James Cameron laughs at both DC and Marvel.

I remember James Cameron saying the only superhero he would ever consider would be Spider-Man. Imagine his SFX of Spidey swinging through the city? It'd be the last scene of TASM, only in every swinging scene. Goosebumps.

Wasn't WB/DC prepping a shared universe right around SR?
Pretty sure they've prepped (or explored prepping... or given thought to prepping... or thought they ought to bring up exploring prepping...) a shared universe several times. I remember talk leading up to "Green Lantern" that said WB was planning on it being their "Iron Man," opening up their shared cinematic universe.

Green Lantern was suppose to.

If WB got their way, Batman Begins would've been the start.

That pretty much sums up DC for you. Put your hands in Ryan Reynolds as Marvel puts theirs in RDJ. This was never a fair fight guys...

God bless Nolan for not letting WB saturate his trilogy with their other garbage.

Well, if Begins was the first, Lantern would've turned out differently. And let's not act like Reynolds was a bad choice. He was a solid choice.

A guy many think is perfect for dead pool is a solid choice for Hal Jordan...
Thank you Geoff Johns.

I'm not dissing Reynolds, I like him as an actor. GL was just a bad movie. If it was linked with BB it would have tarnished everything... We may have not even gotten TDK! :wow:

I think JLM was written to at least be connected to BB since they had the whole Talia revenge plot too.
I remember talk that it was going to be set up something like so:

Batman Begins
Superman Returns
The Dark Knight
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern
Superman Returns 2
Batman 3
The Flash
Justice League

Yes. It's because he's an actor.

Perhaps this "actor" should play wonder woman too.
Just saying there is something to be said for types. I wouldn't want cavil playing blade, I wouldn't want bale playing hal jordan.

Bale playing magneto though, solid:yay:

No. Because he's not a woman.

I think he has qualities as an actor that make him a good fit for both Deadpool and Hal Jordan. How is that weird?

Men have played women before.

I just don't agree personally. He's not not hal, that's all.

Like I've mentioned before, the sad thing is that Warner Bros. and DC could have easily beaten Marvel to the punch in not only establishing a shared cinematic universe between their heroes, but releasing their big team up film as well since they don't have to worry about rights or other issues like Marvel does with Sony and Fox, etc.

Too bad Man of Steel wasn't released back in 2006 instead and that Batman begins wasn't used as means of creating that shared universe. If they had also made a MUCH better Green Lantern film and had gotten a Wonder Woman and Flash film out during then that were both great, then we could have had a awesome JL film right now.

If Cameron did a Superhero movie, it would be the best damn looking superhero movie ever. The man knows how to compose a shot.

y'know, with Bruce in MOS 2, I was thinking that might be a good opportunity to introduce an adult Lana into the story. Bruce could be "dating" the popular model/actress Lana Lang, and they attend a function where Clark and Lois are reporting on and that brings Lana and Clark together again.

Lana doesn't have to be a LI or create any kind of love triangle situation, but as someone from Clark's past, she could add more insight to his past.

it would be interesting to see her side of the story of how she felt about the bus incident and afterwards regarding Clark.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. This is essentially how they bring in Lana Lang in one episode of STAS. Although there Clark had dated Lana, which we got no indication of in MOS.

I don't remember reading about that. I do remember Flash was going to be a spin-off of Wally dealing with the legacy that Barry left behind after dieing in JLM.

Wasn't the rumor that it's meant to be inspired by (not based on) The Dark Knight Returns? If that's the case, I'm not sure that the World's Finest story is going to be used.

There is no evidence it is really "inspired" by The Dark Knight Returns. They just used a quote from there to introduce it because the quote was so catchy.

I definitely remember the Flash spin-off idea. I just can't remember where I've read that plan structure for the DCCU, though. :wall:

he would probably create some new tech that makes us feel the wind blowing through our hair as Spidey swings through the city. Spidey swinging through the city in real 'Avatar' 3D would have been awesome.

I can only imagine the great films we would have gotten out of the MCU(starting with im2). Had they listened to your advice.

Dunno if there are any Angry Joe fans here (a huge Superman fan who loved MoS) but he posted his thoughts - [YT]L43JaaWcT-M#at=403[/YT]

I don't think any of the big flaws with any of the Marvel movies had anything to do with them being tied into each other.

Well said.
Maybe people will stop assuming the worst and start being a little more consistent then.
