That doesn't even make sense.

It's not supposed to. :oldrazz:

Then again, it doesn't really make sense that WB is working for the S&S heirs by having to make a Supes movie by 2011-2012, for fear of losing rights to the character.

My point on Marvel was moreso that there is no ****ing way Marvel meets any of those release dates they set otuside of IM2 and Spidey. The Avenger, Thor, ect. I will be shocked if cameras roll any time soon. Only way they happen so fast is if they suck.

I remember my first beer.

HAHAHA. That was perfect timing, touche Showtime.

So do you see that as levity in favor of WB then?

B]HAHAHA. [/B]That was perfect timing, touche Showtime.
I don't think he realized I was kidding. :O

At this point I doubt Spidey 4 is happening in 2011 and when it does happen I don't think that it will be a true sequel and it will star different actors and be directed by someone not named Sam Raimi.

I would love for Sam to redeem himself after his first two wonderful films with all the cast intact but I just doubt it.

Despite the fact that Sony tampered and f**ked up Spider-Man 3, they think they know whats best for the character and are obviously looking at the franchise differently than Sam is.

I believe that Sony could ultimately f**k the franchise so bad that the huge amount of fans it has won't be coming back for 10 years.

I'm a huge fan of the first two movies obviously...sorry for the semi rant.

I thought they were officially on, no? Or is it still up in the air?

I think Marvel is learning the same lesson W.B. learned why it kept announcing new, different, and later dates for Superman live...July 4th 1998...July 4th 1999....Thanksgiving 1999...ect. until it had so much bad buzz that they just canned it. These films are complicated and Marvel got lucky with numero uno in Iron Man, but it wont exactly be clear sailing. HULKs bombing threw another wrench into an already flawed plan.

So nobody's doing it 'right', then....or is this genre finally running out of steam for this era?

I read that article when it came out so I know. Things look like they are falling apart to me.

The main problems:

The endless re-writes

Sony hired a screenwriter to pen number 5 and 6 that Sam wasn't in love with hence the re-writes on part 4

The fact that Sam keeps saying that they have almost locked down a script and they don't.

Things are falling apart and I believe that the project is in extreme danger.

W.B. was doing it right for a while...might be ****ing up GL...but Marvels a mess.

hmmm i would think at this rate we would see spidey before we see supes/batman 3 from nolan. I havent really heard things going bad on spidey front. And so what sony rehired the guy who did first draft of sm 4 whos to say he would be the only one to have a hand in the script come time they are even shot. But yea in this biz you never know what is going to happen. We can only hope for the best. As for thor/cap both are due to start shooting to early/mid next year if i recall and thor is to be 2011, with cap 2012 along with avengers. I dont see why their is any worry for those films. Heck cap isnt even in active prep work yet from what i read online and isnt due to be to this fall/early next year and thor has a good chunk of its cast set or soon to be set.

Maybe it's good to take a break from Spidey instead of coming out with 5 or 6 of them and over-saturating it even more. Obviously, there's incentive to keep making money on it...but if it, or any other comic franchise, ends after three for a while, that's really more than enough. I'd rather there be fewer that are more precious than more that just drag on.

I get what you are saying but I would like to see Sam and cast do one more.

From everything i seen sam and toby/dunst are all still locked and ready for 4th. With filming for some time next year. But yea i hope it happens, just like gl. Its always nice to get more of these films out their and hope they are do well.

Hopefully 4th can redeem the bad parts of 3rd film. In my mind if you just took a few elements out like venom at the end, and some of the emo like stuff from peter and saved venom for 4th it might have been a better film. But it looks like we keep getting side tracked on what we should be talking here which is superman. So to get back on track if any certain stories or eras is to be the basis of next film what do you guys want to see used.

lol i thought i was on the wrong forum, saw a crap load of spiderman discussions.

Nah...it was only about five posts or so....which is all those movies really deserve.

:O

So back on topic like i said in above post what eras and elements from those eras and what stories would you all like to be used as a starting point/launch pad/ ideas to use for next go around. Like how BB and TDK took elements from various stories of bat lore.
