This implied that almost all of their filmed scenes ended up in the final product and that there were very little extra footages, hence the lack of deleted scenes.

If you watch all the trailers and then compare to the movie, I don't think there's a single shot in the trailer that's not in the film. That's very rare these days...

In that same article, Jenkins also addressed the early rumors that the movie was a “mess” and how it feels to see a rumor like that from the other side:

“That was actually the most frustrating thing when somebody made up the rumor that it was a mess and I was like ‘Really? A mess? It’s the opposite, it is so steady, it’s been so even keel and steady.’ It’s been such an opposite experience… The rumor mill of these movies has been quite something to behold. I tried to learn to tune it out but the one thing I want to say to readers because it truly was stunning to me to watch is you truly can’t believe how absolutely false certain things are until you’re on the inside of one these things. You’re like there’s not even kind of where there’s smoke, there’s fire. There is absolutely lies.”

I think that Jenkins did similar thing with her last feature film 'Monster'. This tell me about her strength as a writer-director, she should have got more works since the breakout film Monster. Her outputs could have been not too dissimilar to Nolan for example. Anyway, I hope that she get to do other projects apart from DCEU.

I wonder if Jenkins fans will end up having a name applied to their group which eventually becomes somewhat pejorative, like Nolanites. I don't know if she would be considered as divisive.

Yeah, and this is very rare when it comes to the filmmaking.

The other thing it says is that there weren't "reshoots", but just standard pickups to fill in editing gaps and maybe add some things. No rewrites or studio issues or any of the other headlines that have become popular for big productions since FFINO a few years ago.

I wonder what the storyboards look like for this film. Were they done really well to have it so well planned out?

I bet there are deleted scenes really though. Like they shot Gal walking for a little bit longer, etc.

No details about it actually. Don't want to know either before the movie, but I've read twice about it saying it's great and I quote "a fist bump moment for DC fans". I even saw a meme saying it IS really cool and it's really got me hyped as hell XD

I think I'm the only one that didn't love the new intro, but in my defense, it happened so fast and I didn't have time to take it all in. I'll be seeing the movie again on Thursday and Friday, so I'll pay extra attention to it then.

Yes. And its not like there is some "right" or "wrong" way. Terrence Malick for example is very famous for overshooting, and he sometimes even has 2-3 hrs of extra footage, and he tries to craft a film from that in the edit bay, to give himself a lot of options. Thats why a lot of characters(even big names) sometimes get completely shafted(heh) from his films. Others like Nolan stick very close to the script and are very efficient.

But I'm sure you already knew this :yay:

That quote is sig worthy...in fact I might just do that now!

Yeah, there is no one approach to it. Malick is a bit extreme when it comes to his approach, but it seems to work for him and the sort of films he is aiming to make. Still, I can't deny being impressed by the fact that Jenkins had such a clear vision from start to finish that, aside from few changes in the approach to the scene (which obviously results in different takes) there weren't any deleted scenes whatsoever. Especially, since we're talking about a blockbuster here.

Can you give a description of what the new intro is like?

Delighted to report that Wonder Woman is aces and skill. Gal Gadot is utterly perfect in the role - charming, funny and a kick-ass heroine.

Anyway, it's going to be HUGE - a critical and commercial hit. And deservedly so. #WonderWoman

I'll go so far as to say #WonderWoman is my favourite DC superhero film so far*. That's right. You heard, Batman.

* post-2000, anyway.

I'm not counting my all-time favourite, the original Superman. I'm not that fond of the Nolans.

They're trying to ban Wonder Woman in Lebanon again, because of Gal Gadot. It's not all people, to be clear.

That's going to hurt WW's overseas box office. BvS made a whopping $843,082 in Lebanon.

Agreed. From her interviews, you can see how precise and articulate she is about what she wants realized too, so it really doesn't surprise me that she's capable of this feat.

Awesome, looking forward to it.
Thanks!

I do think some of the Arab countries will try to ban it. However, I don't think movies make a lot of money there.
