Oh really? Themyscira was one of my favorite parts of the movie, but that's my personal preference. Mainly because

I liked how they portrayed Diana's desire to be a warrior and her journey towards it, especially when Antiope was training her and how Hippolyta did all she could to protect Diana but realizes that she cannot hold back the warrior spirit in her.

Also, Robin Wright as Antiope was badass.
Too bad they killed her off though. I wanted to see more of her in the future :csad:

Themyscira was probably also one of my favourite parts, and the scenery was so breathtaking. I wished they spent longer there and developed it more.

Great film!! Haha, you know what I really liked!? A special shout out to

1 or 2 scenes with Dr. Poison and Ludendorff that could just as easily fit in Batman and Robin. When the camera slowly zooms on Poisons face amd she says "the results will be.... terrible dun dun duuunnnn."

And the part where she threw the gas grenade and a single gasmask into the room then locked the door and they were just out there trolling the guys inside almost like Batman '66 villains.

Loved that.

I think I saw in one of the interviews that Danny Huston and Elena Anya improvised the scene and weren't sure whether it would make it in the final cut.

Ok, so why are you assuming that the jet has to come from the Amazons in the story?

Either they are revealed to be sufficiently technologically advanced to have developed such a thing, she gets it from a non Amazon-source (man's world, likely the US government), or even possibly a God character like Hephaestus intervenes and provides the jet to her.

There are all kinds of scenarios that could account for the invisible jet.

Sure…

But having taken the trouble to rationalize how Diana acquires this high-tech jet, what’s the payoff? A scene of Diana at the cockpit controls? An exciting Top Gun-esque aerial dogfight? To me, these don’t seem like iconic Wonder Woman “moments” (certainly not as resonant as WW with her bracelets, lasso, etc.) - and, therefore, not really worth the set up effort.

I think they were there long enough. The plot had to progress. Once Diana left her real journey began.

I'm glad it did, made me smile

Also btw how come Steve discovered the island...or the germans for that matter?

Due to the sequence of events, I would guess that the force field protecting and hiding the island, which was created by a god, was disrupted when a certain someone accidentally used certain ... god-like powers that created a concussive / magical force which radiated from the middle of the island outwards.

It would help to explain why someone else didn't want that person knowing about or using their god-like powers because they feared that it could lead them to being discovered.

The soundtrack is better when listened to independently than in the movie.

Also I don't think it was a shield in the sense of a force field. It was a veil that prevented anyone from getting a visual of the island. Like being shrouded in mist for eternity.

Agreed, that's what I think too.

Question I have about the Amazons

Are they supposed to be immortal? I figured Diana would be, or just have a super long lifespan seeing as she's a demigod, but the Amazon's history reaches all the way back to the creation of man (according to Hippolyta's story anyway). I was under the assumption that Amazon's were all kind of super, so it surprised me that they can be killed by bullets. So I guess that means they're not indestructible.

According to comics, Amazons are Immortal as long as they stay on Themyscira, I think that is what is implied in the movie too.

I found the movie was a bit dark especially towards the end (when Diana is riding the horse) but that had to do with the time of day in the scene.

And luckily I was at a new screen too. I do think that it would've been quite dark in 3D and that would only be good if you've got a good cinema.

The seating was also spacious and well-arranged where I went so it's not a problem if people get up or come in late etc.

While I didn't go to a special event screening, there were a couple of people dressed up as WW, one guy too had the tiara and bracelets!

That scene was too dark, and you can see the same scene in the trailers and it looks fine there. Or maybe, the 3D (which adds to darkness) ruined that scene for me.

It did look darker than in the trailer. But then again in the first WW previews (on the BvS featurettes and that Kevin Smith/Geoff Johns TV special) it was quite dark. Maybe they just lightened it up for the trailer.

Agreed. I don't like watching in 3D anymore. It's so uncomfortable for someone like me to wear the 3D glasses over my regular spectacles. I have to constantly keep adjusting them.

Well as I said in the review thread

I wished there were a whole sequence of Diana discovering her powers for the first time in addition to realising that her bracelets can deflect things. She needed to revel in the exhilaration of being super strong, being able to leap high and perform other wondrous feats. Instead, it was as if she almost took it for granted that she had super powers. She should've been surprised at first that she was not like any other Amazon and could do things none of them could do. It should've been a sequence like Clark discovering his powers in Superman the movie and then racing against the train, or Peter Parker discovering his powers in Raimi's Spider-Man, or Tony Stark testing out his armour and going for the first flight in Iron Man 1.

Then after that they could've had her seeing Steve's plane crashing and her going to rescue him.

That little bit extra would've been good enough for me.

I agree with Dark Raven on this. I wish there was an extended cut of this with around 10mins of extra footage, where they expanded the themyscera part, and the middle part of the war, basically the second act.

I watched it in 2D and that scene and other night time scenes were very dark for me where I watched it, so much so that I found myself straining to see.

I've yet to see it (this afternoon) That was one thing I REALLY disliked about BvS. I wonder if it's a WB thing?

Now if only Trump would follow this
I 100% agree with Trump's decision to keep his campaign promise but the WW thread isn't the right place to discuss this stuff.

Agreed. I see the score is now wholly available on Spotify. Good way to start a Friday at work.

Am I seeing things!? :wow: A DCEU film that's rated fresh? And certified no less?

Guess I'm allowed to like it now, right? :o

I've listened to it once, but I'll definitely give it another listen now. I thought it worked rather well, even if Zimmer's soundtracks for MoS and BvS seemed more memorable.

It looked perfectly fine in my theater, but I saw it at an Atmos screening. Everything was clear and easy to see.
