I too wish the costume was more practical. I wish it covered her entire torso, like Hippolyta's armour, that the skirt was longer and that the boots didn't have ridiculous high wedge heels. I'd also be open to a variant which included pants. But, it is what it is. And I think it could have been a lot worse - just look at the costume for the failed TV pilot.

Saw it again tonight, and it was even better the second time. And my dad was practically rendered speechless by it, so he loved it too.

So happy to have a kickass Wonder Woman movie out in the world right now.

Well, that was great. Very vindicating to finally have a DC film that isn't hot garbage.

Not saying much, but I agree. BvS was a muddled, unfocused mess, and while I enjoyed some of what they were trying to do with Suicide Squad, it wasn't really that much better. I loved Man of Steel when it came out, but upon rewatching its flaws became much more glaring, and while I still liked the film, I more or less appreciate it as an Alternate Universe superman film.


Wonder Woman, OTOH, was a giant breath of fresh air.

Only to the people who don't think they are. Of which there are plenty. Just as there are people who do think they are. That's just kinda how opinions work. But calling other people's opinions on films "silly" isn't exactly bringing common sense or substance to the table, either.

Krysten Ritter, Lupita Nyong'o, and Rosario Dawson have all used their Instagram account to voice their support for the Wonder Woman movie, and Don Cheadle has defended the all-women screening in Austin, Texas. Plus Chris Hemsworth tweeted that he thinks Wonder Woman can kick Thor's @ss after Gal Gadot asked him in a video who he believes will win in a fight.

Looks like a lot of Marvel actors really support this movie.

about 90% of tickets were sold when I saw it again. Mind you it was 12.30pm on a Sunday my time.

The best justification for watching it again would be to take some people with you who haven't seen it.

Watched the movie yesterday evening. I liked it. But now, thinking back to it I think I like it a bit more. It's the kind of movie in my opinion that has immense replay value and should get better on multiple viewings. The chief reason being that the core of the movie does very much play like a 70s movie where scenes don't hurtle from one to the next which is pretty much true for all post-2010 blockbusters, good and bad. Every scene breaths and just plays on for that minute longer so you kinda get the feel that the movie is slower than it actually is.

I wasn't sure after the first or even the second viewings, but after three viewings I'm 100% convinced the No Man's Land sequence will rank next to the likes of the Interrogation Scene in TDK and the Avengers Battle of NY as one of the best sequences ever captured in a superhero movie.

I wish the second half of Captain America: The First Avenger would've been like this. The first half is perfect, but they hurried through the Howling Commandos scenes too much, and turned them into montage which rubbed the chemistry of the team. Seems like Patty Jenkins avoided this pitfall and let the scenes played out more naturally.

The First Avenger is an extreme example though where it's actually reduced to a montage. But even in other better films a lot of things tend to happen in the second act. And I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm just saying Wonder Woman is different in that respect.

Israel is a minefield for liberals. So many people just have a black-and-white view of the country with little thought or self-reflection. it's quite baffling.

Based on my initial viewing, I thought it was one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a movie like this.

It's just so good on so many levels. I won't bother trying to discuss all of those layers right now, as there will be plenty of time in the future to delve into that.

But anyway, amazing scene. Can't wait to see it again sometime in the next couple of days.

Lexi Alexander is a "feminist" when it suits her.

The one thing I will say about that scene is that it is pure heroism in the best possible way. Or maybe I should say "super-heroism," in the obviously fantastical, but still relevant sense.

That is actually something these movies tend to struggle with a bit. I guess because it's hard to do it well, or because it's easy to get side-tracked by other things. Or maybe there is a fear that it will come across as trite or naive.

But that scene absolutely nails it.

I felt so many emotions during that sequence. It was one of the best examples in a movie of why superheroes are so inspiring to us. That alone validates seeing it a second time next week. Really hope my mom likes it, as she loves superheroes but wasn't won over by the trailers (only when I told her about the Tomatometer was she interested, lol).
