Gotta go the marvel route and have weak villains from now on.

Hurrah!

*cries in amazonian*

There is a Syfy interview with Christie Marston, granddaughter of William Moulton Marston, along with a tour of the family's WW museum.

Matter of fact, the creators of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman have heirs with Laura Siegel Larson, Athena Finger, and Christie Marston.

Please tell me ya'll saw this:

Fantastic advertisement.

Seeing jmc with a Gal avie and when he likes a DCEU film more than me.

Hopes may fade, wonders never cease.....

I wished they used that tagline in the promotion.

Lexi Alexander being shady af tho.

She is not supporting the film cause Gal is from israel. What happen to the whole female filmmaker should stick together she often promotes?

Lexi is Palestinian so there's that

I wonder if people complaining about Wonder Woman acknowledge the fact that the whole women should cover up thing comes from a time when people believed that Women were better left unseen in society because they were "too distracting"?

Repackaging that as "pro woman" is silly to me because I always thought the point was that women can wear whatever they want lol. Her costume is meant to subvert that old notion.....plus it's fantasy

I personally really like her DCEU costume (and given that I have complained a lot about overly-sexualized female character costumes in the past, that's saying something). But I think that a lot of the complaints come down more to the really blatant double-standards in play by the writers/artists a lot of the time. For example:

http://www.comicbookherald.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/new-52-justice-league.jpeg

This is the New 52 JL lineup. And I'm sorry, but it really sticks out (and not in a good way) that ALL of the male characters are covered from neck to toe by their costumes (and in Batman, Flash, and Cyborg's cases, a big part of their faces are covered as well, and GL has a domino mask). Whereas the one female member of the team, is the only one showing significant amounts of skin.

Now, if it was just WW, or if there were more female characters on the JL, or if more of the men wore more revealing costumes, then it wouldn't be nearly as much of an issue. But none of those things are true.

And the problem with the whole "well it fits their personalities, they should be able to wear whatever they want" excuse is that these are fictional characters at the whims of writers and artists. And that excuse tends to overwhelmingly be applied to female characters. So as a result, it comes across more as a thin excuse to justify dressing them in sexy outfits.

Good things happen when the Warner Brothers Executives let go of the wheel and trust their director.

The idea that the previous films are nothing but "hot garbage" is kinda silly.

Seriously, the audience applauded during BvS when WW appeared the first time and after the movie ended at the theater I went to. The general audience loves these movies.

Fanboys and SJWs seem to be seeing these movies in absolute terms-- either it must be perfect or it's total **** to them. If a movie veers off their ideological script, it's dead to them (Suicide Squad).

"Hot garbage" is objectively only applicable to actually unwatchable films like Spawn, Batman & Robin, Steel, and Meteor Man.

Thing about this is I don't think it's necessarily an agenda driven thing at this point because ultimately they have to maintain the iconography of those costumes to not alienate their fan base regardless of how one politicizes it. Hence why when Wonder Woman was given pants and all that, fans hated it.

Now we're getting into a slippery slope here because when you use the "they are at the whim of the writers" argument, where does that begin and where does that end?

If you use that argument then nothing that happens in these comics truly matter or hold significance in relevance to the storylines and characters because of this. Their characterizations, the storylines etc are ALL at The Whim of the writers and that arguments strips these characters of their agency. It would be the same if they dressed conservatively as well because they aren't making the choice of how they dress due to being fictional. Whose to say that conservative dress is or isn't the "right way" besides the author or the character herself?

No man's land is a great scene.

But for me :

First Flight>Batman Warehouse>No Man's land.

I really don't think "hot garbage" is a phrase capable of objective use.

Have you seen Punisher Warzone? :woot:

Watched WW today, had to see in 3D as there were only 3D showing. A very satisfying watch, there were whistles, claps, very loud laughs & talks of how hot is Gal in the theater. As the movie ended, more than half the crowd did not leave their seats as they were expecting a end credit scene LoI.

I very much like how DCEU movies explain this universe's history(Joe el & Kal el in MOS and Amazon queen and Diana). This movie also maintains its Mankind theory/philosophy which was a backbone of MOS & BvS.I hope this theory/philosophy will attain a kind of closure or culmination in JL.

Gal:ilv: Godat was so Good. She is:hmr: Wonder Women. Thank You Zack Snyder for casting her.

"DC don't take the wheel
Don't take it from the directors hands
Cause they need to do it on their own"

That's because they wanted the Batman V Superman face-off kind of movie, and adding Wonder Woman in a prominent role would have ruined it. WW would've beaten both men up until they're reasonable and not acting like a child in the movie.

There we some of us openly saying we wanted that to happen. Wonder Woman as the voice of reason would have made a lot of sense.

Only to the people who don't think they are. Of which there are plenty. Just as there are people who do think they are. That's just kinda how opinions work. But calling other people's opinions on films "silly" isn't exactly bringing common sense or substance to the table, either.

Well I dont think Krypton is going for substance, he is probably just sick of having to read everyone's opinions on the movies. I mean it isnt like we dont get it, most people dont like the movies. We dont need it put in every post all the time. (especially hyperbolized)

It kind of goes back to when critics first started talking about the film. To praise it they had to remind us all how much they hated Zack Snyder and his films. (which looked even worse when Snyder told the world about his daughter) You dont need to knock down other movies just to make another sound great.

There is a difference between "I have disliked everything in the DCEU but Wonder Woman is great" and "The rest of the movies are complete trash and should never have been made and I hate them but Wonder Woman is great"

Just my (mostly worthless) opinion :) Now back to the greatness that is Wonder Woman!

What I also enjoyed about the film was the Romance!! I'm a sucker for a good romance especially when the chemistry is FIRE!! That was the emotional arch for Diana post Trevor! She missed him so much and had internal heartache at the point that she couldn't even remember what he looked like after almost 100 years! That photograph was all she had left and the watch! It was so romantic I loved it! The romance was Influenced a bit by Titanic brilliantly! Remember rose at the end said "I don't even have a picture of him! He exists now only in my memory"! Rose had the Diamond which was her heart for Jack (Diana with the Watch)! The Angle upwards shot of Rose reaching Rainy New York (Diana Missing Steve angle upwards shot in London at the end) I teared up when Diana wrote Bruce "thank you for bringing him back to me"! yes it hit me in the feels cause you fully care for Diana! Steve was her everything ever since she saved him on the beach! I'm a man and I dropped a tear Lol well done Patty! I'm surprised how no one picked up on Titanics influence.....it was obvious! It took the best of titanic romance and made it work greatly with Steve and Diana's already Dynamic Chemistry
