I've seen a lot of people ship Antiope/Menallipe together but they don't realize they are sisters lol. Of course the film didn't really do a good job of stating that Hippolyta had 2 sisters.

As I've suggested before

When she says in BvS that a hundred years ago she walked away from mankind, that doesn't have to be interpreted in only one way. It doesn't have to mean that she walked away in 1918 for the next 100 years until the present day. It can also be reinterpreted to mean that she's recalling an event that happened 100 years ago when she walked away/ turned her back on mankind, which although for a moment, still happened 100 years ago.

This is exactly what she did in the movie when Steve was asking her to help and refused as she thought that everyone had been influenced by Ares and they didn't deserve her help. But her crisis of faith was only momentary, and in her battle with Ares she declared that it isn't about what you deserve, but about what you believe, and she believes in love.

She could be saying effectively "100 years ago I had a crisis of faith and turned my back on everyone and this is something I regretted ever since (because of the consequences of that action leading to Steve Trevor's death)." But if she doesn't give you the whole picture and say that after that happened (which was also 100 years ago) she decided that mankind was still worth saving after all, you might get the wrong impression that she has turned her back on mankind ever since.

Of course, they could just ignore that line said in BvS, but if they still wanted to keep it and not create continuity issues, reinterpreting it in this way would be a good way to go.

Honestly, I think it's best if they don't even bring it up again.

This poster takes on a more sinister meaning once you see the film.

That never seems to stop people shipping the likes of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. :barf:

I don't think there's that many errors in continuity between MoS; BvS and WW. Zack said it ages ago that the sandbox technique will allow the movies to interconnect but at the same time, allow the studio's director to spin their own film to make it theirs. That's what happened. Little nuances will change, but the overall theme of the DCEU is intact.

I really love Wonder Woman. Going a third time to contribute to the second weekend BO.

Yup.

Oh, absolutely. Saoirse Ronan please.

Yeah, I think this was brought up in the Superman forum as well, but yeah, after Brooklyn, Ronan has shown that she's got what it takes to play the fish out of water character that's embracing a new world. She'd make a great Supergirl.

Hell, just give Benoist her own movie. She's fantastic. Love her from the first season.

In a perfect world, we would have a CRISIS IN INFINITE EARTHS by 2022 where the tv and cinematic characters team up. Though having Benoist, Margot and Gal in costume in a single frame may be too much for the space-time continuum (and us) to bear without danger.

Honestly, I think it's best if they don't even bring it up again.

I don't understand how people don't get it.

Ares speech - about how all he did was put it in mankind's ear about their destruction and he never forced them to do any of it hit WW really hard,
she really felt they would live at peace like the amazon's would after she killed Ares, but realizing that Ares just needs to push them in a little direction turns her off from helping humanity as that is THERE fight, her fight was with Ares,
a fight that is bigger than mankind, it gives them their own fighting fare chance.

Fast Forwards to B vs S - Doomsday shows up, guess who she feels can't take out Doomsday? Mankind, they'll need her help, so bam suits up.

No another bland redhead in DCEU, please.

Bland? She's a great actress. Come to think of it, so is Amy Adams. Not sure what you are getting at there, other than Zack Snyder sure knew how to squander amazing talent.

Anyway, yes Chastain would be a great Ivy. Although, I am not sure she would do it unless it was treated a certain way, and I doubt David Ayer is the director that would embrace those feminist leanings Chastain would want to explore. So I doubt it is going to be her.

That's what I'm like. Adam's and Chastain are bland compared to who? Because they're not doing over the top shtick?

I seriously think people are making a bigger deal about justififying this than they need to.

That Adams and Chastain are bland. That's what I'm "getting at" here.

Theron, Blanchett, Moore, Kidman, Weisz, Winslet, lots of wonderful actresses out there with charisma and talent...and if Chastain wasn't doing "over the top shtick" than I don't know what she was doing in Crimson Peak...Adams at least has The Master, Her and Junebug. Chastain was admittedly amazing in The Help.

It's also a small reference pool you have there.

The only Academy Awards that Wonder Woman will likely be nominated in and potentially win would be stuff like visual effects and sound, hopefully cinematography as this is an incredible looking film. What I want is Academy Award wins for cinematography and costume design. I think that would be more realistic.

I love Gal Gadot's performance in WW from the bottom of my heart I do, but it's an almost certainty that she won't get nominated for best actress at the Oscars. Now, Saturn Awards and stuff like that? Sure. Here's hoping.

This year is a complete bloodbath in every category. There is something like The Beguiled out as early as June that may dominate costumes, production design nominations etc. and as for visual effects there's Star Wars, BR2049...it's just a tough year in every category even if something is getting released close to voting season which WW wasn't

Costume design nod would be a good chance, maybe the sounds catergoies too. Not much else I can think of.
