As Wonder Woman Japans ambassador also, and with the blessing of Patty Jenkins, I have a dream if each Nogizaka 46 member can be included in the movie, well, at least in the Wonder Woman 2.

I will be very happy if that happens

They could have a scene where Diana's investigating someone in the crowd of the Nogizaka 46 concert :yay:

From the Japanese premier:

It's interesting to see the different culture in their presentation, in other countries you could see that energy

and the Japanese are probably burning with excitement on the inside but they show it with the politest mannerism possible

Gal wasn't present at the premier so she greeted the crowd in a video

Stuck with the reshoot? j/k.

Dang — looks like those women-only “Wonder Woman” screenings were illegal

http://www.salon.com/2017/08/08/woman-woman-women-only-screenings-lawsuit/

Turns out that when men whined about being banned from the screenings, they had a legal point

Lol this only happens in US I guess.

I'm glad Patty is so smart and diplomatic she didn't dive in and promote this, I think she said she's thinks it's cool but WW is for everyone, something along that line. Stays out of these weird controversies.

Gal is a darling and she is always so sweet to the fans. All Hail the Kween.

I don't mind historical events, but don't want WW tied down to some contemporary pop group. I think that would date the movie badly. Inserting members of a girl band into it just for the sake of it would feel completely tokenistic and ruin the film. Sorry.

Possible evidence that WW is being positioned more as the lead of the DCEU, certainly in terms of the JL movie:

Mattel Reveals a Wonder Woman-Centric Justice League Synopsis

http://comicbook.com/dc/2017/08/09/mattel-wonder-woman-justice-league-synopsis/

When photos emerged of Mattel's Barbie line of Justice League toys, the packaging revealed a synopsis for the film that centered on Wonder Woman rather than Batman -- a change from the way the movie has been marketed up to this point.

It is not clear whether the Wonder Woman-heavy description is one tailored to the needs of a product line aimed at girls, or whether the success of Wonder Woman will increase her viability as a way to sell Justice League to casual moviegoers, but either way, it's interesting to look at a familiar text turned in a new way.

Here is a look at the original synopsis, which has appeared on Warner Bros. promotional material for months:

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

...and here is the "Wonder Woman version," seen on the back of one of the Mera Barbie dolls:

Once again, Wonder Woman must demonstrate her ability as a fierce warrior. Facing a great enemy, she and Batman join forces to recruit a group of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. Having formed an unprecedented League of heroes, they set out to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Before Wonder Woman became a massive success, one of the big criticisms of Warner Bros.' strategy as it pertained to DC was that they couldn't seem to "crack" any characters who weren't Batman or Superman. Since the movie has become the top earner of the summer and earned ecstatic reviews, some fans are now wondering if Gal Gadot's Diana will become like Robert Downey, Jr.'s Iron Man: a character so beloved that all the other movies start wanting a cameo.

Justice League hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

What do people think?

Since it's on a Mera doll, that could lend some credibility to the theory that WW is the lead. If it had just been on a WW doll I might've thought that it was merely focusing attention on WW for the sake of the packaging. But if it's on Mera then there's no reason to concentrate on Diana if everyone else is considered more equal.

Batman got the shaft? =P

Would need to compare with say, the Aquaman doll, wait, they don't make AM Barbie dolls, because dolls are aimed at little girls, or feminine boys, so they are using WW to market to this demo.

Genius move WB.

PS pretty sure the batman or Cyborg toys would be centered around the original synopsis, because boys under 25 y/o only made up about 15% of the moviegoing audience for WW in the first week or two.

Just realized their uniform is based on WW, very cool, would have liked the skirt to be shorter to look less heavy, and their school girls started a trend of cutting long skirts short when they were in my country as exchang students.

If the chain wants to apologize to these 'offended' individuals, they shouldn't just give them Wonder Woman, but bundle it with the Halle Berry Catwoman film. And institute a no-return policy.

And no extras on the DVDs. Not even a cover.

Alamo Drafthouse should send these offended men a men-only version of Wonder Woman. All the amazons will be played by men, as well as WW, Etta Candy and Dr Poison. :o

Now see, first I thought you meant Wonder Woman, but just the parts where men are on screen and nothing else...in which case, the movie would be, what, maybe 45 minutes?

Kind of like what people on YouTube do with other films, like Bee Movie, but every time they see Bee, the movie speeds up, or Harry Potter, but only Hagrid is in it.

Alamo could still do that. Send the men an edited version of the movie. Of course, a lot of Chris Pine's scenes would be cut out then, since he shares a lot of screentime with Gal.

Good thing that law professor has his priorities straight. There's no point working on (say) gender-based wage disparity until frivolous girls-only movie nights are utterly crushed. :oldrazz:

Ah yes, he was so offended by this, yet does nothing about the men's only screenings that happen all the time... It's called Men's Night (which I'm for btw. Scheduling a night out for fun is totally cool, just like I am for the women's only screenings)

I'm wondering if there's a difference though between something you've scheduled or something the theatre has scheduled. If you hire out the theatre privately then maybe it doesn't count as illegal in the same way as a theatre putting on a screening and then turning certain people away based on gender etc.

Of course, Alamo probably were trying to give women a bit of a push as they might not have gone and hired out a theatre to watch WW on their own accord if they just thought it was the typical superhero movie.

Theaters do this all the time though. (And again, setting nights aside for this is something fun). Men's Night was something that people posted about and sent links to theaters doing that when the manbabies complained about Alamo. But is this lawyer going to do a thing about those? Nope. Because this particular thing was for women

Do the Men's Nights actually *exclude* women? That's the key thing. You can promote whatever you want, and give special bonuses too. What you can't do is discriminate in public accommodations. Its the difference between "Ladies Night, no cover charge for women" and "Ladies Night, no men allowed". And while the ability of those particular men to get into this particular showing might be silly? The consistent deference to the rule of law *isn't*.

No, but this didn't exclude men either, no matter the advertising. Men did buy ticket, because Alamo couldn't actually stop them from doing that.

It's just a Barbie thing. I imagine WW will obviously be the centerpiece of the JL Barbie line and also the hottest commodity for the people/girls who buy and want these things. She is, after all the only "Barbie" on a team full of "Kens", if you catch my drift. Mera is a supporting character.

I thought the same. It's for the Barbie line.
