I'll have to agree to disagree on both counts. Ares is rumored to be the main villain, if that's true he likely will draw potent psychic power from the First World War with plans to dethrone Zeus and I'm thinking it'll be Wondy's mission to stop all of that. Of course, we also don't know what year Diana enters the war, that would be helpful info.
Btw, I wasn't saying the goddesses should turn Diana into a mindless slave to do their bidding. But in her book I do like when the pantheon interferes in Diana's life--for good or for bad. And a god magically crashing Steve's jet into the island, for any reason, isn't forcing her hand. She still has free will to either enter the competition or not, or leave the island or stay at the palace.
I don't give any credence to rumors. We don't know who the villain is or why Wonder Woman is in World War 1.
