Are they shooting Spider-Man already? Or reshoots?
this week they're doing reshoots/pickups for Civil War. Spider-Man I don't think is slated to start filming until June-ish

I kind of hope that's his Peter look.

The hair and the outfit and great for a geeky school kid, who isn't into fashion or anything like that, without it being too OTT.

The sweater could also do a good job of hiding his Spider-Man costume underneath.

I'm really excited to see Tom's portrayal of the character. Hopefully he brings a fresh new take on the character that will contribute to the revitalization of the series while also keeping the key elements that make us love Peter/Spidey. :)

Yeah, I thought Garfield's Parker could be a bit too *****y and at times very unlikable.

Agreed. Garfield Peter was the worst. I not like him at all. I hate the way he do things Peter would never do like when he reveal his identity by webbing Gwen on her ass.

I don't really get these comments that Garfield was unlikeable, I found his Parker very engaging. Even if he was unlikeable, he was portraying a teenager and teenagers on the whole are unlikeable.

Well it's all based on personal view. I like Garfied and Tobey and I'm probably gonna like Tom. But some people out there won't because not everyone has the same point of view.

I dont want to watch Tom Holland be an unlikable *****e. I want him to be someone I can relate to as a teenager.

Well we gotta wait to see what his portrayal of a teenager is like. He still is a teenager technically so his portrayal might be a bit more natural. But we have to remember every human is different. As is every teenager. There is no definitive way for a teenager to act. Some are mature, others immature, some emotionally and/or socially unstable. So the appraoch in general is a mixture of up to how the script and director put it and how Tom portrays what they want. In other words, we'll have to wait and see.

I want him to be a cool, funny, nerdy teen-hero done MCU style.

Although, I prefer Peter to be more meek and nerdy, I appreciated Garfield's portrayal of Peter for being closer to real modern-day teenagers.

With the Russos comments about a contemporary Peter Parker, i'm honestly not sure what to expect.

That's the point. NO ONE knows what to expect. Becauss we haven't seen or heard a single thing on how they're gonna portray a teen.

Some of you are acting like you don't know who Peter Parker is. Outside of the comics the best interpretations of his character that's essentially contemporary were the 90sTAS and the spectacular spider-man show. Garfield's poetrayal was too uneven. There were times where I watched him and thought yes, this is Peter Parker and then there were times where he just came off as a ***** head. Maguire on the other hand was too meek and irritatingly so. Hopefully with Marvel evenly involved they can get the character right this time round.

You should never watch an actor play a role and feel like they arent 100% that character. That means they didnt pull it off.

Out of the two I just easily bought Tobeys portrayal as Peter. He really kept the character in a perfect balance on those personality traits.

He also played lovestruck dope really well. Thats a big part of his emotional arc in those movies.

SM 3 is considered the worst of the movies but honestly, the friendship/fight between Harry and Peter and the ending was very effective to me. You feel the sadness.

Haha, have you read James Cameron's script treatment?

I read one he had with Arnold as Dr Octopus lol.

Disagreed. Garfield was not likeable for me. Not all teenagers are unlikeable and Peter Parker sure isn't.

He should play Pete like Tobey and Spider-man a little more like Garfield
once that mask goes on, his 'swag' level jumps

aannnd now I hate myself for using 'swag' in a sentence

I think someone put Cameron's name on that draft but the one he actually wrote had Spider-Man going up against a made up rich guy villain with Electro's powers and a renamed Sandman as his thug.
