The Boys Amazon's The Boys General Discussion Thread

I loved the finale but with a few gripes; I wish they would actually show how awesome Franchie’s weapons and devices work. In the asylum it was silly comedic effect and here he barely got to use or do anything. I really hope they show some amazing gadgets working to take out Supes

Lastly, Starlight seems really weak and nerfed this season. I was hoping for a lot more ass kicking from her

So I guess in the comics Butcher kills Ryan? Glad that they changed that. They seem to be open to adapting the general story but changing things which is fine so I should check the comics out sometime.

They also revealed that Jensens character will have some changes from his comic counterpart.

They probably wont...but Im ready for some new variations of their costumes.

I'd like to see Mr. Marathon and Jack from Jupiter in the 3rd season.

Stormfront as a Darth Vader figure would be taking the Empire-Nazi metaphor to a whole new level haha

Nah, go for it. So over the top, it will be great.

I enjoyed it. Satisifying finale, with some interesting tidbits for season 3. Can't wait.

I loved A-train just popping up in the car.

Also, give Antony Starr some awards. Such great performances. RIP milk for me....

I liked the girls get it done scene. Nazis getting a beating never gets old for me.
I think the audience wouldn’t be as sympathetic toward the Becca character if it was revealed it was a consensual affair rather than rape. If it was an affair, it wouldn’t change Homelander’s character because he’s still a POS but it would tarnish how people see Becca. I think the writers made the right call with the storyline.
I agree.

I'm not sure why Homelander being a rapist is any more over the top than him being a psychopath that enjoys killing people. The character has a somewhat sympathetic backstory but it isn't like he is a good guy. He believes he is a god above everyone else who can do what he wants and someone like that probably would sexually assault someone if they felt like it.

Starr does give us some amazing bits of genuine humanity from Homelander, and then the show is quick to remind us, oh, yeah...

God I hated Stormfront with a passion and that's even before the racism reveal. Something about her babyish and condescending tone that just rubbed me up the wrong way. I've known people like that and at their core they're rotten human beings.

I guess what I'm saying is well done to the actress!

The change with Becca was the thing I had the biggest issue with this season. I'm not sure it functionally works.

Just to say as well I think there's a lot we can all learn from Billy's philosophy of don't be a you know what.

Am I the only innocent mind who didn't know what Queen Maeve meant when she called Hughie a twink?

To find out I Google'd 'The Boys Twink'.... I've never exited a Google search window & cleared my browser history so quick in all my life.

That was probably my favourite line from the whole episode during his interaction with Ryan.

I don't think Ryan actually exists in the comics.

I know people don't like the accents but I think my favourite scene from the season was Butcher and his dad. John Noble is so good at playing a reprehensible bastard.

It takes a special kind of **** to beat both his kids with one dying from suicide only to praise the one that survived for being "hard".

I can't be the only one who thought of this during that fight.

However did you avoid all the Bryan Singer discourse? Even before the allegations started to come out, I learned about it because that is his obvious type.

And Shawn Ashmore had a guest role this season ;)

Billy's one of the biggest you know whats of them all.
Thing with Billy is you can be you know what just dont have powers too. You can't afford to be one with them. Because that's The Seven, The Homelander etc. And world doesnt need more guys like that anymore.
