When asked by co-host Kelly Ripa if the title would be “just as demented as The Boys,” Ackles laughed and said,“I’m workin on a few different shows right now, so I’ve got Countdown which is out right now — Prime Video. We filmed that out in Los Angeles, but there’s a new show coming up that I start next month, which is Vought Rising, a spin-off of The Boys.”
“Of course it will! It’s in the same [universe]. And we just finished Season 5 of The Boys, well, they just finished, I wrapped a little earlier. So, that is now in the can and should be out next year.”
“Wicked” star Ethan Slater is joining the “Gen V” Season 2 cast as Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the superhero school. Several “The Boys” alumni, like Erin Moriarty’s Starlight, Chace Crawford’s the Deep and Nathan Mitchell’s Black Noir also appear in the upcoming season. The casting was revealed, along with a new trailer, at San Diego Comic Con on Friday.
