Ant-Man Ant-Man Casting Thread

I really wish they would come out and tell us some sort of plot synopsis for this movie, My hype for this movie is so torn between if they do the "to steal an ant-man" storyline or not. And I also do not want it to be set in the past&present like a lot of people assume even though that snippet of info is like 6 years old.

I'm cool with Lang and the to steal an ant-man story involved, but I do not in any way, shape, or form want the movie to be about him. I want it to be about Hank and Janet. I imagine a good movie adaption could be like the A:EMH episode where they touched on "tsaam" where Lang worked where Pym worked, stole the suit and was using it to get money for his kidnapped/sick daughter (can't rememeber which it was lol) Then use that storyline where AIM has her kidnapped, thus connecting the AIM thread we will almost for sure being seeing over Phase 2 and then gives Hank a real enemy to face (AIM) once he settles the disputes with Lang stealing his stuff. Heck, Lang can even help somehow in the final battle, but then I want him to go away back to his life with his family and not a main MCU character.


I also think Phase 2 ends w/ Ant-man, not Avengers 2..

I'm okay with there being a "trinity" --- Lang as Ant-Man, Janet as Wasp, and Hank as Giant-Man.

I'm even okay with Hank and Lang being from separate generations, as the original script intended.

Or: I'm okay with this movie being solely about Hank as the title character, and Janet as Wasp.

The two things I am *not* okay with, ever, is for Wasp to be absent from this film, and for the Pyms not to join the Avengers by *at least* TA3. (Prefer at least a cameo in TA2, as the leads for this film should already be cast by then, and shooting should have already started.)

i can't imagine him feeling personally responsible for Ultron, for some reason.

I know some people want Nathan Fillion for Pym, but this just hit me the other day. I think Alan Tudyk would be a good choice for Hank.

I think the trinity of heroes might be overkill of storylines for film 1 (not that it couldn't be done in a smooth way). I'd like to just see the Ant-Man persona and have the Giant Man one be saved for a moment where it would come out of nowhere in like Avengers 3.

And I don't know why but I just hate the idea of different generations, I almost feel like it doesn't do Hank Pym justice to have him be an older person or not even around in present day.

Does Ant-Man have more interesting stories than the "To Steal and Ant-Man" storyline? Besides the whole, ya know, creating Ultron thing lol.

that looks more like Scott than Hank, imo. both actors have said that they aren't interested. but i think a Fillion (Hank) and Tudyk (Lang) team-up would have been cool.

We don't know. He was planning on it but he had to rework the script since the MCU has come into existence.

i thought of him after reading some Avengers season one take on ant-man and the wasp. but that guy doesn't look like someone who could carry an entire movie; serviceable on Mad Men, though.

Pace has been on a lot of fan casting lists for superhero flicks man. I've seen his work and definitely get it, so Marvel or DC need to step up.

Marvel have been intrested in Pace for a while. He had a couple meetings with them and he auditioned for Star Lord. Pace is on the up, his a versatile actor and his probably reasonably cheap to hire.

The two actors that had popular fan casting followings and landed the role in DC films are Bale and Cavill.

i'm all for that. i remember him as the thief from League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. but it really all depends on who they get to play opposite him. and i, for one, hope that Scott is in the first one. i think there's room for multiple characters; makes it stand out from the pack.
