Ant-Man Ant-Man Casting Thread

Elijah Wood's not so young anymore...he's 31 whereas Aaron Taylor-Johnson is just 22.

Ant-Man is a scientist, not a body builder type. That's why I suggested Wood

he's still kinda young looking, but, I wouldn't exactly say he still looks 15...

People see Wood as young because their mind is stuck in a time 10-20 years ago. Not saying this to be a ****head, but I think peoples' memory of Wood as a teen actor, maybe even a child actor, have remained with them, and that's among the first inner pictures to come whenever someone brings the actor up.

I'm hoping some A:EMH influence in the characterizations of Hank & Janet.

Hank as an earnest, goody two-shoes scientist (the sort of person Cap could easily relate to).

Janet as an excitable, funny live wire with a warrior on the side.

Who could play these characters? It's a tough job casting them, because they also need to have good chemistry (no pun intended) together. Marvel struck gold with the MCU Pepperony. Can they do it again with Hank/Janet?

Everything in the Marvel Movies should be inspired by EMH

He hasn't aged since back to the future 2

Adrian Lester or David Oyelowo for Bill Foster aka Black Goliath/Giant-Man 2

I'd be a bit annoyed if they had Black Goliath in this film. It would mean that we have 3 black sidkicks in the Marvel MU. I want a main black character such as Luke Cage.

Alot of Marvel characters have a black sidekick\best friend. It was probably part of Marvels way of getting more ethnic diversity in their comics back in the day.

Bill Foster doesn't have to turn into Goliath in Ant-Man but it would be good to have him in the film seeing as he is one of Hank's best friends and also a former empolyee of Tony Stark. Bill Fosters ex-wife is also Claire Temple who was Luke Cage long term love intrest and girlfriend so if they make a Luke Cage or Heroes For Hire movie they could have the actress reprise her role.

I hope we get Cage and Black Panther soon.

The problem with Bill Foster is it looks to the general audience like War Machine all over again: i.e., black sidekick with exactly the same superpowers as the main hero. We need less redundancy amongst the heroes....

At least black sidekick ("I'm not a sidekick, dammit!") Falcon doesn't have that redundancy problem --- his costume and power set are totally different than Cap's.

Cap has the wings on the side of his helmet. Falcon has wings on his arms. Same costume and power set. :cwink:

I can't wait to see Falcon on the big screen. I love how thematically random the character seems to be; I can picture back in the 1960s, Stan Lee creating the first African-American superhero: "Right, a black guy from Harlem. Right, like it, like it. He used to be a jive-talkin' gangster and pimp. Okay, we're going some where with this. Then one day he takes up the pursuit of ... falconry! Excelsior!"

I could see Bradely Cooper as Lang. Not that I want Lang :o

if Lee Pace doesn't get Star Lord then Hank Pym it is
I kind of hope doesn't get Star Lord because I think he would make an amazing Hank Pym or Scott Lang.

Lee Pace has great acting range. I saw him in The Fall, Infamous, Pushing Daisies and he was completely different in each role.

well, the thing is he'd be a great:
Hank Pym
Star Lord
Mr Fantastic
Dr Strange

so eventually he'd get his shot lol

Hopefully Pace having roles in Twilight and the Hobbit will raise his profile and make him more bankable as a leading man. His talented enough
