So Rudd, JGL and an unknown third are in the race? we all know how that will turn out, we know the game by now. they really are negotiating only with the third person (who might be a well known actor and probably the best choice) and are throwing two other random actors into this negotiation vie Deadline, Variety etc. to get a better deal (Look, if you don't want to play this role for xxxx $ and sign a 20 films contract, Rudd has told us he would do it and we hear JGLs agents are very willing to come to an agreement too). It happens all the time, especially if there is a 'third unknown actor' involved, you can be sure that this is the person they really want.

They never said there was a third unknown guy, they said there could be someone who comes in but it seems unlikely right now.

Also, this is a different situation than what you're talking about. When the field is in play, they'll list a bunch of actors the studio is looking at. With this, they're saying they've narrowed it down to these two more or less.

I'm sorry to disagree but for me

The trade adds that another actor could emerge, but as of now Marvel is said to be meeting with the actors one more time before making a decision.

I don't feel either of the choices for Pym. I don't know who suggested it before, but Patrick Wilson would probably make a great Hank Pym.

AICN comments are all pretty much unanimously in favor of Rudd, which is creepy to me. That place always has at least one poster insanely hate a casting choice, but they're all in agreement. The end is nigh.

Which means that Paul Rudd doesn't stand a chance of landing the role.

Yeah, I think filming is supposed to start within the next 5-6 months so we'll probably know some more about the film and who's in it come New Year

I'm not sure if the Doctor Strange rumour was legit although Marvel does like to meet or tap actors well in advance.

Anthony Mackie said he had been talking to Marvel for a while before being cast as Falcon and Lee Pace met with Marvel before they were even making Guardians Of The Galaxy.

I bet we don't even know half of the actors Marvel has met about potential future roles.

At some point it seems like every actor in Hollywood will be a part of a Marvel movie, the way these casts are growing.

I've read most comments on the message boards and they seem to be swinging toward Rudd because he's such an unconventional choice.

JGL released a statement about the "rumors", which... doesn't exactly deny anything LOL! It's PR doublespeak, IMO.

To be honest I just feel Rudd, seems like a better fit for Pym.. but it seems like Edgar Wright is constantly hinting the To Steal an Ant-Man story line

If Wright wants to throw Simon Pegg into this movie, which he ALWAYS does, then Eric O'Grady might be a good role for him. As for a possible third actor, Ewan McGregor would be a good choice.

Wright doesn't want Pegg and Frost in the movie. Pegg and Frost don't want to be in Ant-Man either.

Simon Pegg has already said he doesn't want to be in Ant-Man as he can't enjoy films as a fan if he is them and that. Simon and Nick say they want to watch their best friend Edgar's Ant-Man film as fans. Neither Pegg or Frost were in Scott Pilgrim.

JGL casting denials are becoming an important milestone in the development of every superhero film. The sooner he signs on to play a costumed superhero, the sooner rumors about him will die.

Nothing he said would prevent him from actually taking the role, if offered, but maybe there's more truth to Rudd's involvement than JGL's.

In fact, when they announced they would make an IM movie, RDJ is the first (and only ) actor I immediately thought of for the role

I do have an open mind, but not in this case

I just about to say this
While rudd without a doubt would do well he doesn't scream hank to me same goes for JLG who I think is TOTALLY wrong for the tole

Patrick Wilson has always been my dream choice for Pym, to me he screams Hank Pym

I mean just thinking of Wilson going toe to toe(verbally) with the RDJ's Stark would be a sight to see

Also him verbally going at it with Rogers debating Ethics.... . Yeah Wilson would be fantastic


And as far as who I see JLG as I would personally love it if marvel was throwing us for a loop and he in fact cameos in GOTG as Rider/Nova
