Storm flew away cause she realized that Logan was ready to do what he had to do, remeber when they were heading to the X Jet to go to alcatraz, when she stoped him and asked him, if he will be ready to do what he has to do?? she was refering to if Logan was ready to kill Jean when the moment comes, they all knew the only way to stop Jean (phoenix) is killing her, she knew Logan was the only one Jean would let in close enough for him to do what he needed to do (kill her), I love storm but it wasnt about being smart, it was about it being obvious that the moment for Logan has come, time to bounce.

As far as Jean making a choice, she did make a choice, she choose to sacrifice herself and die to save them (as Charles said at the end of X2) and thats how the whole ordeal started (cyclops going insane, Jean coming back as the Phoenix) in storm's book perhaps Jean choose to die and thats what opened the door for the Phoenix to come, also remeber that they believe that she could have let them help her but she made a choice and she didnt (also end of X2), and perhaps (and this is my opinion) Storm was also refering to Jean choosing Scott over Logan, "hey Logan she made her choice and it wasnt you, why should you be after her?? shouldnt we make our choice??

Storm is not looking at the Phoenix as an entity with jean traped inside her, Storm sees the Phoenix as an unstopable threat that killed Scott, the proffesor and joined magneto, Storm believes Jean is dead and Logan is failing to realize that, Storm knows that jean would never harm Scott or the Profesor, the only explation to this happening is that the Jean she knows is dead and this new entity only has a phisical image of Jean but is not Jean.

*bows to Nells and Raising Storm's explanations*

Can't say I agree with all your points guys...but I'll be damned if they weren't articulated well!

I do really like this explanation, but it would've been nice to have maybe a quick scene showing Storm's loss of faith that Jean was there. It seemed when Storm first found Jean/Phoenix at Alkali Lake that she was really concerned, obviously thinking it was Jean, but then later on Storm, as the thread title says, had already turned on Jean and we never saw when.

I actually thought from the trailer when Storm was looking up at the storm clouds swirling with a sombre look on her face, that she was mourning or feeling something for Jean. It would've been a nice scene to show that Storm felt that she had lost Jean, and shown her change of heart on the matter and how she became so gungho (sp?) about bringing Phoenix down.

There could alos be a hint of anger that storm had for jean because they were best friends and jean didn't let anyone save her at the end of x-2.

I couldn't agree more. That balcony scene was a complete waste of character development. What a missed opportunity.

For the professor as well. I still don't understand why did he stop his class in the middle.

When I first watched the movie, when I saw this scene my jaw literally dropped because I thought it would have meant something, but instead it was over and done with in a flash. A real shame they wasted it.

No.

COMICS:
Storm has led the X-Men for the greater part of 30 years. She is the most respected female of the team. Jean has never once laid claim to those privelege. To this day (in 616 terms) Storm is lauded as a goddess and is currently living. Jean is dead. Both women had a tight, sisterly bond. So tell me again, why would Storm be jealous of Jean?

MOVIES:
Halle Berry got $17 million for X3 as well as top 2 billing. She is an Oscar-winner and known by name/face-value throughout the world. Most people off the street do not even know how to pronounce "Famke", not to mention the actress has never achieved anything close to the former's accomplishments. So why would Halle Berry be jealous of Famke Janssen?

REALITY:
Both characters and actresses are loved and praised for what they bring to this franchise. Only in the fanboy world would the kind of "issues" you speak about above exist. Let's be realistic here.

I agree with you in the comic parts because i was talking about the movie. But i have to disagree with you on everything else. It was very obvious Halle was jelous that Famke got more screen time then her. When they were interviwed together just look at the way halle looked at Famke. You have to admit it she was jelous of famke the whole time. I mean she said "I wont come back for another movie unless I am leading the team" so yea shes jelous. Just look at the catfight they got into. Dont get me wrong I love storm till death I just hate Halle lol. In the movie i dont know if it was because halle cant act or what but when she did that "if your with us then be with us" part talking about jean it looked like she was jelous because logan loved jean. Thats what it looked like but its probably because she cant act. Sorry for taking so long in responding to this i havent been in this thread for a while. But if you ask me she was jelous all over. This is just my opinion but i cant force you to think what i belive so dont take this personal because i love storm to but i dont think halle can act. Honestly the reason i think she was jelous is because she is used to getting these big roles and for x1 and x2 she juststood there most of the time and it kinda got to her. I mean ui dont know why she gotan oscar i mean she did horrible in james bond if you ask me and in x1 it was sad the way she acted. I think she won because shes hot lol.

I saw you posted that halle was smart because she left when she saw jeanwas destroying everything. I agree she was the only smart one lol. Wolverines part with her at the end i hated because he regenerated like the damn hulk. But storm was the only smart one. SHe knew if she tried anything she would turn to dust so she left it to wolverine to try to act like the big hero (once again). I find it funny that she first said "we work as a team" and at the end when jean was killing everyone she got lost like nothing, when logan said go i thought she would be like we work as a team blah blah blah so i laughed when she flew away at the end like nothing. How did they get away by the way jean vaporized the x-jet. Kinda makes you wonder how they got home.

True about x-1, but in x-2
I thought Storm was well writen and played (unlike in x-1 and x-3)

ME TOOOOO!!! I swear I thought she was mourning over Jean and I just kept saying to myself that Storm was finally gonna show her friendship for Jean. But when she found Jean, I saw nothing. She called Logans name and when he came over there you could see that he really cared for her and was confused. But with Storm it was like "Come here Logan...Jean's alive". It didn't even seemed like she cared..except for when she screamed Logans name. But I really don't see why she called out to Wolverine and didn't call out to Storm. Even though they didn't show it, they were best friends and Logan didn't even know Jean as Storm did. But anyway. I think your right. They didn't even show why Storm turned on her. It didn't show that she was trying to figure out if Jean could be saved or not, just that Jean was this big bad person who killed Scott (someone she barley talked to) and the professor (someone she's just now talking to).

I know! I actually got excited when the sky truned dark while the prof. was teaching that class because I thought it was gonna be something big. But they just made that terrible. After that, I had got sooooo mad because thathad got my hopes up. I didn't even feel like watching anymore of the movie after that.

Well, I'm not telepathic, so I can't begin to interpret the "looks" Halle Berry gave Famke Janssen during some interview. Sounds like you might be assigning ulterior motives and looking for subtle insinuations for an actress you already "hate"...but that's your perrogative.

Keep this in mind however: If Halle Berry was playing some C-list character like Arclight and made a stink about getting a more meaningful role--then it'd be a lot easier to say it's based on ego, $$$ etc.

But Halle Berry isn't playing Arclight.

She's playing Storm--comicdom's most iconic Black Female character of all time. She's far from "small-fries" in the X-Men canon--or with the fanbase. So whatever Halle asked for rolewise, was justified in my opinion.

Umm...Storm was ready to ***** slap Rogue for even contemplating the cure, so what was so strange?

If she was the Storm of X1 or X2, i would have expected some kind of scene with her trying to "bring Jean back" or "fighting Jean, because it has to be done." but in X3, it was perfectly in character. She was just another 1-D representation: Storm strong, so Storm mean. :marv:

Howdy

Do you even realise Storm would be laying on the floor out like a light if she even attempted this?

Totally agree 100%.
I said this opinion somewhere else here and got flamed.

The way I see it, she wanted one of the most iconic female X-Men characters to actually have a meaningful part in the movie. If I were her, after the treatment Storm got in the other movies, I would've done the exact same thing.

Ipeople wonder why their are always versus threads.

Howdy

Ain't no vs thread bein spawned from that. Unless the Storm shippers want to say Storm can now somehow become Iceman with her moleculare re enginering. Even then she got to Iceman in one of the movies. But I would think there would be a sign in the school somewhere saying rule number one don't try to slap Rogue.

Howdy

Slapping Rogue isn't a smart move if you wish to remain standing.

It all comes down to this....

REALLY BAD WRITING

Did Kinberg and Penn actually read the script through before it went into production? Nobody cares about anybody. It's just terrible on every level. Thank GOD for a competent cast and director that were able to make a fun movie out of a crappy script!

Couldn't agree with you more. This whole issue about Halle asking for more screen time, doesn't mean she cares about only that, rather than care about her character... it means she wants the character to have more screen time. It doesn't really make sense that she's one of the faces of the X-Men and gets on average 10 minutes of screen time in X2... that's just kinda strange. It's almost as if they used her to attract people and once they've sevured their cinema seat, they put her out to pasture. She's the female face of the X-Men, so why shouldn't she have more screen time?
