I’m expecting a solid performance from Yahya. Hopefully he can take Manta to deeper and darker places in this one. He should get some big roles going forward too.

Black Manta and Mera are just great big screen characters. Yahya is a good up and coming actor. I think Marvel snagged him unfortunately.

I don't know why we're criticizing WB for keeping Heard hidden. She is very much a polarizing figure these days and after The Flash, they are no doubt thankful they can keep Mera's presence to a minimum in the marketing materials.

All that being said, I think this looks good and I'm convinced it'll have a very healthy box office run.

Kind of has an Avatar: Way of Water vibe. As long as it is similar to the first movie it will be fine.

I wish they got someone else for the main villain role. Though iirc Black Manta was teased in the first film returning but the premise of this is just not eXciting. The trailer felt in some parts, like a third trailer released one week before the movie is out.

Though I'm glad that WB isn't delaying this, so the DCEU (the films anyway) will finally come to an end. The first Aquaman movie, feels like it came out ages ago, well anything pre-Covid in 2023.

Yay it looks so fun! I’m glad they didn’t feel like they had to make it grimdark. It’s a shame mera only had that one tiny bit but it is what it is.

Movie looks fun and colorful, with epic action sequences, just like the first one. Arthur & Orm team up should be a lot of fun to watch too.

Has the same vibe as the first one, which I loved. So I can't wait to see this. Plus my wife is actually invested in this particular DC franchise, thanks to Jason Momoa lol!

No lies detected! Lol. Shoot, I think he has a large male audience because he just has that "cool/it" factor to him as well.

Hopefully we eventually get to see him play Lobo. I assume this will be the last time we see hin as Aquaman, unless this does 1 Billion as well.

This looks fun. I didn't care for The Flash or Blue Beetle but this movie looks like a good time. People compare the Arthur/Orm bro team up to Thor/Loki but the sibling rivalry was some of the best parts of the Thor franchise in my opinion. I'm not mad at the bro team up.

Black Manta being a petty ****** obsessed with ruining Aquaman's life is comic accurate and often entertaining.

It just comes off as bizarre. Aquaman is talking about his family and son and the mother of the child is completely absent.

It wouldn't surprise me if they kill her off in the movie given Black Manta's whole revenge angel. Killing off Mera is probably more palatable than killing off their kid like in the comics.

I didn’t realise some weren’t happy with the bro team up, that’s something that has added to my interest.

yeah honestly I think Momoa is the one guy you just can’t replace. I don’t think any other actor would embrace aquaman as much

He's under a lot of s*** after those comments about Burton's Batman from a long time ago.

But overall, he has been in a bad position from the start. He is now head of a company that had like four motion pictures from the previous regime that have been, for the most part, already old/dated by the time they released. Not to mention this might be the worst year for superhero movies since what? 2007?

Momoa is more popular as Aquaman than Cavill/Superman and Gal/Wonder Woman with the general audience. It’s just something about him. I remember going to the first Aquaman movie over the Holidays and listening to children of every color laughing and loving the movie. The second movie will do well overseas, like Fast 10 but don’t know about here in the states.

Only a rumor but supposedly the reason why people walked out of the screenings was because the movie was comic book accurate with a certain death. Can’t see that happening in a Holiday movie but WB is crazy like that…….

Oh no Gunn definitely can. He promoted Blue Beetle last month. The strike doesnt affect Gunn.

And im only remarking that because its been glaringly apparent since the beginning of his tenure that Gunn doesnt like this movie. Hes gushed over Flash and Blue Beetle since day one and said mum about Aquaman.
