The Amazing Spider-Man ASM: Stuff You Didn't Like Thread

It's spun by the spiders but then refined by that machine they showed.

Ah...

Peter must steal the machine! Along with the spiders! Infinite webs! muahahahahaha

Ya know, I'm actually a little bit confused. Is the web fluid expensive or inexpensive? I mean, I assume that the bio-cable is revealed to the public, and is sold to the public (for what ever reason).

How expensive is this stuff? And if it's packaged in small containers, how do people get it out to use?

I'd imagine the web fluid is expensive, and probably meant for industry/military use, instead of public consumption.

also, if the web fluid is created by actual spiders, isn't that essentially..........organic webbing!! :hehe:

yes

so....ummm......what happens if Oscorp decides to shut down the whole spider web project and pull the existing product off of the market......

would that mean Spidey is screwed??

would he have to deal in the underground, black market of web fluid??

:hehe:

How would the police know Oscorb was making webbing?

How would the specific type of crook tell them anything related to Peter, or prove anything?

Because they sell it on the internet and advertise it:huh:

All Oscorp has to do is see who is ordering a **** ton of this stuff. It was really dumb that he orders the web cartridges from Oscorp. Also, how does Peter afford web cartridges?

also, i found it kind of ironic that Uncle Ben and Aunt May have a Sony, flat screen tv. But their nephew walks around dressing like a hobo.........lol

and the school Peter went to, didn't it seem just a little too..........nice and clean??

Better than the 0 seconds we saw in SM1.

He sketched more suits in SM1 than in ASM. The only thing different he did here was google spandex. What a logic leap between the two!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. I love it how everyone was so adamant about this movie being more grounded and realistic than Raimi's and he creates the suit in a shorter montage than in Raimi's and it doesn't once show him stitching one thing together. Realism!

Dressing like a hobo? Because he wears a jacket, a hoodie, and gloves?

It was a charter school. They have a reputation to uphold.

Everything at that High School felt off. None of it felt real aside from Andrew and Emma talking to each other. It felt like an overly dramaticized cliche of a High School.

In TASM, we see him pop the lenses off his sunglasses, order the spandex, spray-paint the back spider, and even do a little stitching. In SM1, we see him sketching things like, "NEEDS MORE COLOR!" :whatever:

"Why is a kid in Queens buying bulk web cable?"

But where did he get the shoes!? I needed to see him ordering them from Asics and sewing them to the suit. Also, that entire costume is not spandex...that's so obvious. The red is not spandex. He was also not spray painting, he was screen printing. That requires a screen press which I guess he bought with his Oscorp web cartridge money. It's funny that people put so much stock into the realism and grounded-ness of this movie yet he creates the suit in less time than in SM1. I guess some of you needed to see Peter google spandex in SM1 for that to become realistic and grounded. :/

Also, when did Peter have time to repair his suit? There were no stitch marks where he repaired it. Did he create a new suit each time!? He had gashes in the front of his costume where Lizard scratched his chest but they were gone in the final battle.

I think he orders it. He either orders a big box or steals it. It shows him opening up a big box with the Oscorp logo on it filled with the web cartridges.

He doesn't steal the formula, it just shows him with the small webbing cartridges.

My biggest problem is they drop
the man with the star
plotline. Kill it DEAD. I'm sorry but that's a problem for me.

spider-neil - 'so pete, you're not bothered about catching this guy anymore?'

pete - *shrugs*

I kinda got the sense that because of the video of the webbing being a simulation on Oscorp's website, they hadn't actually completed it yet.

Oh, you mean these gashes?

Woah, that's so weird! He still had them during the school fight! :o But, like you said, they're gone by the final...

... wait a tick. Isn't that a screenshot from the fight against the NYPD? Can't be, because like you said, the gashes were gone by the final battle, and that was right before then.

what you are combatting is "New Toy Syndrome". A new toy comes along and the old toy that was fine one minute is now trash the next. Do we really need to see a scene where Peter makes his costume?

I 'think' he reverse engineers it as that box will eventually run out and it doesn't look like the type of stuff you can order on Amazon.
Also it's possible the formula is in that book Pete finds in the briefcase

go to Apple's website and you'll see simulations for their products that you can order.
He ordered the webbing from Oscorp

No, it was completed, that 4 armed machine was strecthing it and maybe compressing it.

You think so, that webbing looked top secret to me and needed clearence from a senior member of Oscop to open the door.
