Part of me always wanted to play as an Jewish Assassin during WWII. He escapes the ghetto and targets Nazi's, ect. They could even have the Star of David on his Assassin's robes somehow.. maybe even make them a bit more "patchwork."

hmmm sound like some thing Quintin terrintino would do. oh wait .......

Watched The Patriot, theres no way they werent influenced by the movie. Mel Gibson's weapon of choice is dual wielding knife and tomahawk

then again that's just shows how old I am for remembering those old frontier legends that were actually apart of history and were on tv.

I think it was the same in Last of the Mohicans.

Im sure they look to a lot of different films for ideas. They'd of done good by me if they looked at those 2. Great films IMO.

..I'm still waiting for someone to make a game based on the Patriot. Damn I love that movie.

"No. My SONS were better men!"

*throat stab*

ok them's fighting word's throw them both a tomahawk, and disappears into the woods of the hype. lol

I followed it up with a tongue face. All angst, anger or rage is nullified once one sees the raspberry smiley.

There is some really dumb parts but Gibson is amazing as always and the battle scenes are amazing

It's one of those movies that I can easily forgive.. For two reasons.

1.) I love the era.

2.) Mel Gibson is near flawless in the flick.

even if he wasn't the first in film history. as there are other's like this one long before it.
but it was alright.

The problem with doing that is you'd had to shift the entire combat paradigm because of the guns. The American Revolution is pretty much the last era in which bladed weapons were as much a viable option in battle as firearms, if not more so. Any later and blades become out-of-date and eventually nearly useless in the face of enemies with effective guns.

I disagree with that because guns are important in combat situations when the enemy is known but assassinations are different. I mean when did people stop getting stabbed? However a Jewish assassin in WW2 is bad idea I think that might be too sensitive and too recent.I don't think any time period past the 20th century is a viable one unless you doing modern day.

Not nearly as often during more modern times. And this series has open combat with multiple enemies as well as covert assassinations.

Well, the original idea I had for that was done when I thought Assassins Creed was going to be more Hitman and less zanny Alien story. :oldrazz:

But I thought it could be done respectfully and tastefully, again though, this was before I knew what the original AC story was going to turn into. I don't think it would work as well now.

WWII is "too sensitive and too recent," yet you think "modern day" is a viable setting....? What's more recent than "modern day"....? I don't understand

Modern day is obviously fiction so it's not a big deal. But having a game that deals with the Holocaust is kind of heavy.

yup and I'm sure they'd rather have it deal with al capon then deal with that. it's not like people weren't running around with switch blades butter fly knives back then. that would some thin interesting like the history of mobsters in the U.s. like some lurking shadow's like what as done in that noir manga/ anime.

For Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft Montreal made the biggest additions to its powerful Anvil engine since the original title launched in 2007.

Great article. The more news I hear about this game, the more excited I get.

Ubisoft isn't shy. The AC series deals with modern day (2012, to put a number on it) just as much as it does the rest of history, and they haven't shied away from some very controversial issues in their quest for "The Truth." In ACB in particular, the Truth puzzles become very politicized about everything from 9/11 to Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin, to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, to the current members of the US Supreme Court, to British Petroleum and the Gulf oil spill, just to name a few.

They wouldnt shy away from doing a game in holocaust Germany or whereever just as long as there is story there that they want to tell
