Assassin´s Creed III - Part 2

I'm intrigued to see what they are gonna do next.

With luck, they'll forgo the present day setting altogether. It's probably the most boring and the part people care the least about.

As for its main setting, I kind of want Colonial-era Shanghai. With the air thick with crime, corruption and opium, and the city filled to the brim with gangsters, power hungry businessmen, crooked politicians and scheming foreigners, the setting always felt like the perfect playground for a game like Assassin's Creed. Plus, imagine adding martial arts into your arsenal.

That Shanghai setting sound fantastic.

Actually, now that the Nikolai/Daniel Cross comics are tied up, maybe Connor will get his own GN?

Wow.. So is it just me or is the DLC story a lot more engaging than the main story for AC 3? I don't know why but it really sucked me in. So far it basically feels like Last of the Mohicans the game. Plus it's got all the sci-fi destiny/greater power stuff that felt lacking in AC 3.

Just finished it up. It was a lot shorter than i would have liked but it was still really fun. Cloaking and calling in your ghost wolves is cool.

But once again Ubisoft screws me over with their odd gamerscore. Its maxed out at 1190 right now. Woohoo.

So I've been hearing rumors and seeing article from a few websites that claim that AC4 will most likely be revealed this Wednesday. Apparently Ubisoft is having their own little conference in London and willtalk about the franchise. I don't know how much truth there is to this, seeing as how I haven't seen anyhting posted on the major gaming sites, but hopefully it is true and we get some new info.

Well it will obviously balance out once all packs are out.

I think they'll divy them all out right up to 1750

So... Tyranny of King George [BLACKOUT]is canon![/BLACKOUT]

Interested to see where this goes.

has there been a double XP weekend since this came out? Also has there been any discount on the DLC/Season pass? I cant recall if PS+ has done one

Can't wait. Finally finished all the frontier and homestead missions and collected all feathers and chests so I can put AC3 to rest. Really enjoyed this game though, looking forward to 4.

My brother just gave me a copy of AC3, only played the very first one so Ill probably be lost lol

But the game only has one of the discs which is labeled "Single Player" Im missing the second disc. Im hoping it is just multiplayer but will it affect my playing/beating the game?

I have both discs and the other one says "Multiplayer" on it.

Incidentally, I am sooooo bad at this game. Christ I SUCK at it. Aside from generally being terrible at free-running, I've just now figured out how to craft things, but have no idea where to get most of the materials. Achilles showed me the Ledger, which from what I could gather from the tutorial was a way to make investments of some kind, and after searching the entire manor I cannot find the ledger again, if it even exists.

Other than that I think I must have rushed through the main missions a little because there's some events around the manor that are obviously supposed to take place early on. I met the wives of the two goof-ball lumberjacks for the first time, but they've living there about three years if I'm following the timeline correctly.

Basically the combat is fine, doing missions is okay, but the micro-management stuff confuses the hell out of me. I have no issues with the system in Skyrim, so I don't know why the Assassin's Creed one is giving me such trouble.

Oh well, at least I'm good at operating the ship.

Hah yea it can be really confusing at first. Honestly man, i didnt mess with it until the end of the game. I just sat down for like 30 minutes and i was able to figure it out. Basically by doing Homestead missions, you unlock materials and items you can craft. So you can end up crafting things like dual pistol holsters or different swords, once you have met a certain level for each "artisan" (or in laymans terms 'dude(ette) who is chillin on your land'.) For instance lets say you want to make the dual holster, youd select that in your item screen, then it would show you what items and the artisan you would need. If you had all the items great, you could make the holster, if not, youd need to see what that item is and either craft it or purchase it.

Also i believe the book for all that is to the left of the front door. Or you can do it at any general store i believe.

No, its just used for the MP.

Thanks Pat!

...this General Store you speak of...where might one find such a thing? :D

Awesome, thanks!

I don't think I've been to New York yet, that's exciting!

The treasure chests have been providing me with decent coin so I should be able procure a few things.

Hah yea, i bypassed those as well and then when i started collecting em i was surprised at how much money they gave me. Again, wish i woulda done those things from the jump.

When does New York open up? At the moment I'm just a little bit passed the tea-dumping mission.

Sorry for the double post.

I've been to New York now, albeit briefly. Found the general store(s) and now that I can resupply and have started looting bodies more often the game is more fun. Some missions are pretty frustrating (eavesdrop/follow) but for the most part it's good. I'm enjoying Conner, he's a cool character.

One question, when the story in complete and you're free to roam around, is there anyone left to fight? The Tomb Raider thread reminded me of games like Arkham Asylum where enemies stop spawning on the map once the game is finished. It's annoying when that happens, but it'd be especially irritating in a game like this.

EDIT: Also, how's the multiplayer? I watched a video or two and it looks kind of interesting. Is it worth playing, how are the different modes? I might be kind of keen on a straight death-match mode, could be fun with all the leaping around and rooftop shenanigans.
