Loving the new dev notes.
He said there's three cities in this one, and according to the leaked map, those would be Havana, Kingston, and Nassau. I get the feeling the architecture in each is going to be more "old school" AC for the Ezio/Altair style of free-running. I'm happy about that part. And the jungles will provide the wilderness type of parkour for the Connor fans....I think that's a good balance between both styles.
It'll be interesting to see what new weapons Edward gets, and which get left behind....I'd be willing to bet that we won't see the tomahawk or rope dart make a comeback. One of the promo animations shows Edward actually smashing a bottle off an enemy's face, so I'm hoping that means more environmental damage/weaponry, too.
Looks absolutely fascinating, of course. This is why I love the AC series so much --- by traveling around to different points in history, they can basically reinvent the game each time and focus on entirely new genres. A lot of people complained that the AC1/AC2 era became too repetitive in terms of gameplay, style, and genre; but with 3 and 4, we've jumped into the Revolutionary War genre, the James Fenimore Cooper colonial frontier genre, and now the pirate genre.
I seriously can't understand when people say the AC series has gotten too stale, when it's literally a whole new genre with each new game.
