Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Hopefully we can team up with Sir ACD and track down old Jack the Ripper.
I wonder if we might see a Sherlock Holmes type character.''As for choosing between two characters, it seems liike a page out of GTA's book, which isn't a bad thing.

I kinda wish GTA would follow suit because I would love a female character there too.

When it comes to female vs male characters.. I'm always gonna gravitate towards male if given the choice. Obviously I just relate better. Unless it's Tomb Raider.

As for GTA.. I'm more or less done with that series, lol. I didn't like V at all. I'm not gonna say it was bad.. I just detest every character in those things. I'll patiently wait for another Red Dead.

I've actually heard a lot of people say that in games where you're given a choice between one or the other, they usually go towards the female. In fact, I just listened to a podcast last night where someone said they do it for two reasons. Because women are less accessible in games in general, and because they're prettier to look at in third person.

I definitely get that its easy to relate to a male more, but I feel like Saint's Row and Mass Effect had it right. The experience is pretty much the same, you're just getting an option of how you want to look, or who you want to be.

I have never been a fan of characters who are so vaguely defined that their gender doesn't matter.

Yep. The best of stories and characters, it does not produce. That is the difference between an ok character like Shepard, and a fantastic one like Bayonetta.

Seems like this news got really jumbled. Basically, you play as both in the campaign, with most of the time going to the male character (article says 75/25 split basically), but you can chose either character when you're in-between missions and free roaming.

There also is apparently going to be no multiplayer.

It makes them most sense that certain missions use a certain character. It wouldn't make sense canon wise to choose either character, cause the Animus doesnt alter history.

No MP? Thank the Maker. Though it seems odd now that they have two playable characters.

This is my first time enterig this thread, but I have to say.
How ancient? You mean during the days of the Pharoah and building pyramids?
Not gonna happen.
The first Assassin's Creed main antagonist; AlMualim is based on Rashid Addin Sinan, when he joined the Hashashin the group was not even 100 years old.

That was not the origin in of the Assassins though, as seen in Assassins Creed II.

It'll be like Arkham City with Catwoman episoes then? I'm happy with that.

The game once whispered about as Assassin’s Creed: Victory - because, brilliantly, Victorians - is now Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate. It’s the first full game in the series to be built by Ubisoft Quebec, after they impressed with their Black Flag DLC - and quite possibly the first Assassin’s Creed to have swappable protagonists in brother-sister duo Jacob and Evie.
After more leaks than you’d find in a chicken pie, Ubisoft are finally ready to talk to the great unwashed.

I like that your character seems to box. I wonder if there will be a boxing mini-game.

Autumn? I can't recall publishers ever using that term over Fall

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Announced

The makers of Assassin’s Creed want to revolutionize the franchise with the next game. It’s called Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and takes place in 1860’s London, right at the end of the Industrial Revolution. That means it’s the first Creed game set in the modern era, with new technology like rope launchers, zip-lines, and revolvers changing how you play. You’ll also be able to get around and fight on top of carriages, and for those of you who like to stick to the shadows, the stealth combat is now more fluid, allowing you to snap back and forth from cover more easily. As for the story, there will be two playable characters this time: the brother and sister Assassin duo Jacob and Evie Frye, each with their own missions and unique abilities. They’ll take on the Templars and fight against the social, economic, and gender discrimination that existed at the time, and yes, this is the first major Creed game with a female protagonist.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate comes out October 23 on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Make sure you watch today’s episode of EP Daily, because we have an exclusive interview with creative director Marc-Alexis Côté from Ubisoft Quebec

Yeah, I agree with that. I'll usually play once with each character*, but usually consider the female variant the "official" one.

*Except Mass Effect - there is only FemShep. The VA for maleShep was absolutely terrible - I couldn't stand five minutes playing with him.

If I can pick a male too then alright cool but if the new main playable character is just a female then no thanks
It is nice to see how all inclusive you are. That wasn't sexist at all.

I'm excited for this and glad we can finally play as a female protag in a main game.

I do hope the mission structure isn't so skewed to be 75% to 25% in favor of Jacob.

but they'll probably do that so they can sell more Evie missions as DLC........:o

FemShep was always my canon Shep in the ME games.

anyways, shouldn't the title of this thread be changed?

Yeah, should've been changed like a week ago, but I think hippie sleeps 28 days of a 30 day month.
