August 2007 Sales Charts & Market Share Report

I'm curious; anyone remember how well that SPIDER-WOMAN mini sold? I mean I know Bendis is the #1 name, but that was the last attempted spin-off from NEW AVENGERS (like Rand and Cage, Drew was a formerly dismissed C-Lister who suddenly got "buzz" and a new role in the MU at large) and the theory was IRON FIST garnered some "hype" from CW and NA; a shame this doesn't seem to be helping his title for long.

The problem with that was, you had to be reading Daredevil at the time to know that Danny Rand was even in Civil War. And as we already know, sales on DD aren't huge.

Oh it does, Corp, the pic.

That's just GAH. Don't mind him, his opinion on everything sucks. He's like the resident Hype monkey that likes to fling poo at everything good.

Fair enough. I sort of know that; I sort of lurk the DC Forums sometimes, like the Phantom of Doesn't Read Enough DC to Feel Worthy of Contributing.

The Luna Brothers' art is mediocre at best, but on that Spider-Woman mini, it was just terrible. I'd be surprised if it did well.

I didn't remember how it sold. Bendis has been talking about another for a while, but, frankly, he usually gets what he wants with most things at Marvel anyway, as he sells issues. I heard not many liked the Luna Bros. on art. It looked odd to me in flip-through's. I was just curious because while New Avengers has yanked some obscure or faded heroes back into the limelight, it may not have allowed them to sell on their own ongoings.

Granted, to be fair, the actual Avengers also had that problem. Hawkeye was a legend there but couldn't sell outside a team-book. Not every character can support an ongoing, the shame of it are characters whose ongoings are actually good or who at one point could sell an ongoing solo.

True. They're better than IIF though, at least twice as good. A shame it couldn't have hovered a little closer. That last dip in August was a monster.
