It looks like it's going to end up a bit short of $860M domestic and $2.8B WW unless it gets another significant re-release down the line. Not that it should really matter though since it's already done massive business and the numbers so far are still insanely impressive, especially with it officially being the biggest film ever WW. Something I honestly never saw happening for at least another 10 years.

I think in another 10 years if they do another 3 phase completing arc that can beat it. One big thing about the MCU is that it is super popular in many fast-growing markets (like India) which is the opposite of what Star Wars had.

Even if Avatar gets re-released it's gonna be a hollow win since it will have needed two re-releases to beat EG. EG beat it both on their original run and on their relrease run and much faster than the time Avatar needed to reach that amount.
