Avengers vs. X-Men: 2012 Event - Part 1

I can see Avengers Assemble getting the axe. There is just no need for the title and the sales will most likely tank once Bendis leaves. It would be best to have the main Avengers book have Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and Hawkeye with Hickman writing the team and just end Avengers Assemble.
thats an ongoing? I thought it was just a temp thing out bc of the movie

It really sucks that Remender's probably off UXF
Don't know who else could do that book justice, makes me worried it'll slide back into Kyle/Yost X-Force territory

Rob Williams did the Uncanny X-Force Fear Itself limited series. He had a good grasp of what Remender was doing with the main title. He'd be a good choice.

Isn't Cullen Bunn co-writing Secret Avengers with Remender too? I imagine the title will just roll over to Bunn if Remender's leaving for Astonishing Avengers. I wonder what that title's point will be. Just plugging holes due to New Avengers' probably ending with Bendis' departure?

Bunn is also doing the same for Cap with Brubaker. He already took over the "Captain America &" book. I doubt Marvel would give the guy 4 titles.

Astonishing Avengers will probably be just like Astonishing Thor, Astonishing X-Men, and Astonishing Captain America, in continuity but completely pointless.

Or they could just cancel UXF. I dont think the concept behind it needs to continue and especially if Remender is off, then it might be best just to end the team

Because it sells well enough to give it a shot with another writer.
And? UXF sells well but you know what sells better? New #1s. The previous X-force sold just as well (actually slightly better) and it was canned when the writers left and they launched UXF in its place. I can see Marvel ending UXF and launching something else to take over, especially if they use AvX to do a refresh of the X-line

Creatively speaking, UXF doesnt need to exist. I dont know what the landscape of the X-world will be post - AvX, but it could very well be mutants restored back to theior previous numbers, making them no longer an endangered species, the X-men could unite as one again, UXF could be out in the open, etc.... I just dont see the concept working and its not needed. Without Remender, I think there is a strong possibility they will end the series.

I don't see Marvel cancelling Uncanny X-Force the way I don't see them cancelling New Avengers.

We shall see. I wouldnt be surprised if UXF ends its run with issue 30 whatever and New X-force #1 (or whatever adjective) debuts later this fall with a team head up by Cable

Astonishing Avengers is the only thing that interests me in that report.I remember Rememder saying he actually had UXF planned out for another year or so and in Secret Avengers he seems to be setting up several plots(New masters and the underground android city led by Father.) I honestly can't see him leaving either any time soon.At the very least I hope he doesn't as they are currently some of my favorite books.I've never really read Hickman but depending on the roster I could see myself trying Avengers if funds permit.

A Hickman Avengers could interest me. I haven't read much from him, only his S.H.E.I.L.D. Alot of it went over my head (have to reread it), but it was still intriguing enough for me to keep buying it.

Anybody else enjoy Greg Land's artwork, and slightly despise John Romita Jr's (I do relaise the man's a legend, and the work he does on Spiderman seems to be good).?

JRJ >> Land. As much as I havent been a fan of JRJ doing the main series, Im glad it was him and not Land if given a choice

I dislike both

I'm almost fine with delays for a Kubert or McNiven, than those two's rushed or traced artwork thats on time

I love greg land. I don't get the hate for him....except for all his female faces looking the same. :o

His art is static and boring. And he is a notorious tracer. I really don't like his work. JrJr has always been one of my favorite artists, but not so much recently.

His characters smile randomly for no reason and it happens alot. Plus he tends to have woman in porn poses often as well

All this mix up on the Avengers stuff means little to me. I don't really care what creative team goes where. I'm more interested in where certain characters go... namely the New Avengers crew. It's sad because after years and years I feel like that title's FINALLY got the perfectly fit crew. It's not exactly classic Avengers but it's a fantastic team with a lot of connections. Bendis has done a good job with it but another writer could probably make that team amazing!

There's Luke and Jessica with the baby and nanny Squirrel Girl.

Luke and Danny are best friends.

Daredevil, Luke, and Danny have watched each other's backs for years.

Daredevil and Spider-Man go WAY back.

Jessica and Carol are best friends.

Jessica and Peter went to high school together and she used to crush on him.

Peter and Carol secretly crush on each other.

Thing is close to all of them.

Wolverine's a friend and ally that will always challenge the rest.

Strange is the oddest addition but he and Wong add humor and power to the group.

Think of those family and friendship connections in the right hands? And their rogues gallory crosses the entire Marvel Universe.
