Avengers vs. X-Men: 2012 Event

Also, I had forgotten about Schism for a second there. He was actually written very well in that story (i definitely sided with him over wolverine in that story). But still, I worry that in AvX, Scott will be the "antagonist" ala Tony Stark in Civil War if you know what I mean.[/QUOTE]

I can definitely see this happening. There's been far too many indications that Cyclops is going to end up as the villain of the piece in some capacity - not least because he has assembled a team filled with former villains, has changed a lot as a character over the last few years, and Sinister's premonition in his last appearance (ie. when we next meet you'll be hated more than I ever was).

I don't mind him being badass but I can't help but miss classic Cyclops. I was re-reading Uncanny # 167 (where Prof X is housing a Brood Queen) the other day and it's got some great quotes and panels which remind you that this guy is a real hero.

I have the feeling he's going to go down a similar path as Daredevil. Act like a human being, accept that's made mistakes and move on to redemption.

I haven't been reading the X-books, what's going on between him and Emma? Are they still together?

Yeah, even though they've been teasing an Emma/Namor affair for what seems to be a million years now. Can't they come up with anything better to do with Namor? This plot line was intriguing the first time I read...it in Fantastic Four.:o

Yeah, I've seen more team-ups with the two teams rather than fights. The trial of Magneto was way back in Uncanny #200.

The Avengers are clearly going to mop the floor with the X-Men for 3/4 of the event until they join up and fight the big baddie at the end.

i honestly think the x-men have a better chance at winning this time around but it depnds on who is on there side. however this is Marvel and a movie is coming so yeah nthe avengers will win simply for that.

I'm betting no clear winner. Some fights may have one (like hopefully Colossus kicking Red Hulk's A$$!), but overall a stalemate.

The most logical and reasonable ending (not to mention my dream ending) would be for the X-Men to lose to the Avengers but in the process the events of House of M are reversed.

Whether it be by Wanda's hands, Hope's or Jean's or the Phoenix Force or all of the above. That way when the event concludes, the Avengers have won the battle but know they are outnumbered majorly by mutants that don't like them or trust them.

Is AvX #0 a good continuation of Children's Crusade? Showing what happened to Wanda after those events? Because I am not too interested in buying the comic just for the AvX part... just yet. But I would like to see how other characters respond to her being back and her finding her place in the world now.

So/so. We just find out that she has been going solo and is turne away from the avengers mansion.

Bendis has already seem to forgotten that Doom took ownership of Wanda's freak-out.

So you wouldn't say it was a real follow up to show where her life is going now?

Just like with Hal in DC comics, I think writers are trying a new take on the whole "I was possessed and am not responsible for my actions, where I killed lots of people and tried to destroy the world." thing.
Trying to say maybe she was possessed but she still needs to take responsibility, and not everyone will forgive her... especially those possessed by her.

Read the first issue today (#0) and thought it was great. Loved the art and found the book enjoyable. Vision is back? When did that happen? I loved him telling Wanda to get lost and calling her out for killing him. I still cant just accept her back as if nothing happened as well. Im surprised so many Avengers are so welcoming of her, like Carol instead of being hesitant and wierded out by her presence

I dug issue #0 as well, it's all set up but I expect that from a #0 issue. And yes, Cho killed it.

I really hated Bendis' characterization here especially since he wrote both tales

It REALLY bothered me. They shouldnt be that close

It's classic Bendis. He ignores everything done before him including his own stuff.

Speaking in-universe, how many years has it been since Disassembled? People change over time. Personally speaking, I have had it happen: in the past year alone, I lost a close friend of two years, and ended up overcoming the differences between my rival and myself. But, I am not trying to defend sloppy writing if it is the case, but rather, trying to speak on the Devil's behalf. :P

I would say about a couple of years have passed in 'Marvel Universe time' since Disassembled.

Honestly, considering what Ms. Marvel has been through, her characterization really should lean more to the latter than the first. It never rung true that she hated Wanda. Carol really should be one of the first to welcome her back. As it was, #0 wasn't particularly good. Vision went understandable bat**** but he'd never do it out in the open.
