when I was growing up, I took classical ballet for many years. And, every year when we'd put on our performance at the local theater, the Phelps were always there......with there signs saying "God hates ***s" blah.....blah....blah.........

they even brainwash their kids to think and protest like that..........sad and ****** disgusting..........

i remember during some of our ballet performances that our company poked fun at the phelps.

like we had props that had those No Smoking circle signs, with the word Phelps instead of the cigarrette.

one time, a group of our male dancers went outside and taunted the protesters with offers of warm coffee ( it was a winter show and they were rightfully freezing their a*** off ).

i even heard some of our male dancers went out and MOONED them......although I don't know if that was true nor did I bear witness to that event........lol

Like almost everyone else who knows about these wackos (KKK w/o the sheets) my first thought was lets go counter-protest and kick their @$$es =P Of course, being far more evolved than they are (lets face it, slugs are more evolved than they are) I quickly realized I needed to calm down and take the high road.

The fact is the only reason these people have the money to travel and protest and make websites is from winning LAWSUITS against people who have *harassed them* and stopped *their right to free speech.* They try to piss people off on purpose so that they can then go to court over it and win tons of $$ to keep going. And they're just doing all this for publicity, they don't really care about Heaths life.

I'm sure the funeral will be at his family home in Australia where it should be, and far away from these nutjobs. The best thing for us to do is to not get involved, not get worked up over this, and be thankful that 99.9% of the population does not agree with their viewpoints so there is no need to prove anything regarding Heath in Brokeback Mtn.

I think we should all be proud of Heath for being the kind of person that would take a role in Brokeback Mtn because it created less hate and more tolerance. That's why these crazies hate the film so much. Thanks in part to Heath, the film got nominated for 8 Oscars, won 3, and got the MTV Best Kiss award -- It's safe to say the majority of sane people, and especially of the young people in the US really appreciated the film and what it stands for.

Sadly, this is true. The Phelps and their scummy associates are basically the real-life equivalent of spamming internet trolls, who want to stir up conflict and anger, and get everyone focused on them.

I almost went on their site to find an address to voice my utter disgust of their actions. But then I realised that it wasn't worth giving their site another hit.

I do appreciate the sentiments of those who wish to stand against them. Its commendable. But for pathetic wastes of space like this, the best option could be to just ignore them.

i actually agree with this.

but i also think the hype is a relatively safe place to express outrage at their behaviour.

but the best thing to do is not sink to their level and do your best to ignore them. they are all victims of abuse at the hands of fred phelps and the cycle of violence is continuing through their children. we should actually feel a little sorry for them.

Bat fans over the last few months we have destroyed every delicious puzzle Warner Brothers has thrown at us. We have been organized, we have been determined, we have been victorious.

That was in the name of fun, the name of entertainment. We have, one more thing we have to do. One more thing, we should do.

As more and more of you are learning, the Westboro Baptist Church is protesting - yes PROTESTING - Heath's church. These people are disgusting. They are repulsive. These people should not be able to cause Heath's loved ones any more harm.

So we should organize. Our Joker needs his crew one more time.

I am not sure where the funeral is (any google search I do is filled with notices about Westboro). We have people in New York. We have people near Hollywood.

I live in Florida, and even toying with the idea of trying to bus up to New York for a day - depending on my schedule.

But if we can organize to run to cake stores, mapping the country to take pictures of buildings, capturing at least a picture of every scene shot in Chicago - we can certainly do this.
