Batman: Arkham Asylum

Gah! Okay, so i've finished the game, and collected all of the riddles, but just when I collected the last riddler trophy, some writing came up saying "transmission location found-" but i was so busy listening to the excellent riddler dialogue, and it happens so fast, that I couldnt read the rest of it.... But it definitely revealed the riddlers location... What I don't know is if it's somewhere in the Asylum, because that would be supremely cool if you can find him hiding out in a hole in the ground somewhere, saddam hussein style lol.

I'm just doing the challenges right now, the scarecrow exclusive is damn hard, especially when the knife guys come.

So last night I finished the Scarecrow section, saved Gordon from Harley and fought Bane.

The writing on this game is superb, and it is what is keeping me playing. The Scarecrow section was pretty creepy. The fight with Bane was pretty intense, and having to juggle between him and the goons was pretty fun.

So yea, so far it's quite a great game, as the story and atmosphere really draw you in.

It's not a perfect game by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fun. Don't know if it'll be one I'll go back and play once I get everything though. We'll see.

On the next to last riddle, it just shows that Batman hacks his encrypted signal and finds an address in Gotham which he then forwards to Gotham PD. Then when you collect the last riddle, you hear the Riddler in disbelief and then cops bust in and and arrest him.

Beat it last night, very good game, I freaking loved it. The only complaints I have is that I kept getting lost in the Asylum, heh sometimes I can't read a map. Also, the whole armored suit business, I would have loved to use that in story mode. Another thing is the end, free roaming the asylum is fun, and finding all the Riddler stuff is nice and challenging. But...it sucks there is no one to fight, it would've been cool to have thugs re-spawn, just to keep some fun alive.

Overall I give it a solid 8.5/10. It deserves every amount of praise.:woot::brucebat:

well there are still some of the unarmed lunatics running around. I found one that was amusingly hanging over one of the toilets in the penetentiary as if he had been out binge drinking.

BTW is there anything more satisfying than when you counter one of the lunatics and body slam them and then follow it up with a ground takedown? I think I could do an entire challenge map of just beating the snot out of them. :D

Yeah, if you manage to get close enough to punch one of them in the face without countering. They go down like a sack of bricks in one hit and then you can do a ground takedown to knock them out. I started trying to be crafty and get close enough to do that rather than counter after a while. It's so much fun. :)

Strangely, as fun as just beating the tar out of punks is, I really enjoyed the Harley/Gordon section, where I had to sneak around taking them all down quietly. It was pretty freakin fun.

Yeah, sneaking around is cool. It sometimes feels a bit too easy to me, though. The thugs are really oblivious.

I normally suck at stealth games, such as MGS, and this being a bit on the easy side is probably why I enjoyed it as much as I did.

The Scarecrow section was pretty awesome too. Hiding from a giant Scarecrow was interesting to say the least.

that room looks a lot harder than it actually is....

I actually thought the room with the doctors in the big bird cages where you had to sneak in and take out the guy in the control room was a lot harder than the Harley board.

its a bit more challenging because you have enemies on different tiers

One of my favorite things to do is to set up a line of land mines with the explosive gel, then lure the group of enemies that direction, and then BLAMMO, they dont' know what hit them. :D

I did that and blew one of the guys right into the electrified water where he instantly wilted like a flower.

I envisioned Batman doing a "Oops. Hope nobody saw that."

I kept trying to pull people into the electrified water in the botanical garden, but they would always stop short. I thought it was impossible to get them in there because the devs knew Batman would never kill people.

I killed at least once. There was a guy hanging on a rope, in a room filled with gas. Long story short, a Batarang "slipped" out of my hands.

he just gets knocked out...if you go back and check his body it registers as unconscious

Well, that's lame. I thought the gas is deadly.

I love this game. I beat it yesterday. It's nice that we got a Batman game that was not only good but excellent. My only gripe is the repetitiveness of the giant behemoths in the game. They could have thrown in Two Face or Hugo Strange who could have been dressed as Batman and you could have fought yourself or even Prometheus.

Excellent game and deserves all the 9s and aboves it has been given.

Now I just have to beat the challenge modes.

The idea is that Batman shuts it off in time. He even has some dialogue after you cut the guy's rope that he has to hurry because he can't just leave the guy to die.

Wasnt able to pull them in with the grapple either. Was able to blow them in with the gel and I also think I tossed a guy in when doing a combo.

Not to mention falling 40 feet onto concrete on his head :D

Batman could throw a man into the sun and he'd survive because Batman doesn't kill. He's Batman.
