Lol, did you guys know that you can break Batman's one rule in the game? Like with challenge maps like "Shock and Awe", all you have to do is fight enemies near the edge, making it possible for them to be sent over it. It's kinda funny!:woot:

Finally got all of the Riddles, and revealed the spirit of AA. Now, its time to got through it on Hard.

As it's been pointed out, that game isn't even out yet.

The award is pretty meaningless and it's often fueled by hype. You're evidence of that since you think an unreleased game is GOTY. And if B:AA is a candidate, that goes to show it's been a pretty weak year for games.

in all honesty..it kinda has. the only GOOD games that i noticed / bought this year :

XMO: W : uncaged
B:AA

and if there were some sorta war games that came out i wouldnt know, cause i dont play those...alot

that Wolverine game was ass....not as bad as the movie, so people see it as a halfway decent game when its essentially a license beat 'em up/hack n slasher

disagree. while i still liked the game better than the movie, i still got a kick out of the film version.

Wolverine was good I thought. Nice fighting system. Decent graphics. Gory as hell. What more can you want from a game about Wolverine other than having many different ways to tear people to shreds?

Wolverine got old pretty fast. It's something of a one-trick pony. No real puzzles to speak of. At least Batman has the challenges.

Uncharted 2 probably will end up being snubbed, or ignored by a massive group of people simply because it's a PS3 exclusive.

Still...the fact that so many game site and magazine think Batman Arkham Asylum is a GOTY caliber title, is progress I think. **** if any of us thought the debate would be if it's a GOTY contender...

Gotta ask. Did you like Bioshock?

That's what I thought until you hear them splash into water :oldrazz:

:hehe: Errr...wha? That's not even out yet. There isn't any reviews. Sony fan boy coming through me thinks.

Modern Warfare 2 will probably win game of the year.

Yep, im the Sony fanboy alright, i mean after all, i did buy Arkham Asylum for my PS3...oh wait, no i didnt, bought it for my 360, hm, why would i do that being that im the Sony fanboy?

Did you play the first Uncharted? Have you paid any attention to the previews of this yrs Uncharted? Its not hard to see why that game will be in the running for Game of the Year and why, imo, itll take it.

Wrong again. I pay attention to the industry, i know what makes a good game. Uncharted 2 has been mentioned with GotY by just about everyone whose seen it. The previous game was also really good. Maybe you arent very good at forecasting, but i am. I knew Metal Gear Solid 4 was going to be a phenomenal hit and possible GotY before it released...guess what? It was.

I dont think that'll hurt it at all. Little Big Planet won the AIAS Game of the Year this past yr, and that was a PS3 exclusive.

Yea i thought it was going to be good, not this good. Then all the reviews started rolling in and a lot of them were saying that itll be in the running for a GotY award. Then i played it. Im now certain itll be in the running. Overall im going to say either Batman: Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2 or Modern Warfare 2 will be the overall GotY, unless there is another super unique game the likes of Little Big Planet that i am unaware of.

did you cancel you're Live account? Haven't seen you on in ages

No haven't cancelled it....I'm just internetless for the moment. I'm hoping to have the internet and router back up and running in a month or so, but as of right now it's not connected.

Don't delete me though, I'll be back up soon hopefully. :D

 and, the final confrontation with wade / deadpool was satisfying as hell, but a serious *****

You can't say an unreleased game will be GotY because you haven't played it. Anyone who says a game that has yet to be released will be GotY is just buying into the hype. Yeah, you can go by previews and other stuff but you can't say it will be GotY until you've played it.

You were really going out on a limb there guessing that the most hyped PS3 game and Sony's best franchise would be a hit :whatever:

Beatles: Rock Band will be a candidate.

Scribblenauts fits that bill.

Nope, wrong again. Its the game i am predicting to be Game of the Year, based on previews, reactions from those who have played it and by the fact that the last game was so good. I dont have to play it to know there is an extremely high chance itll be a top notch title, again its called forecasting.

Hype has nothing to do with it. The Metal Gear franchise has been steller since the PS1. MGS4 had seen a long dev time and had everyone floored when they saw it at conventions. Again, it wasnt hard to predict that game would be a phenominal hit not just with fans, but with the media as well. What im saying is that you dont have to play a game to get an idea as to how it will fare once it releases, well maybe you do, but i dont.

Beatles: Rock Band will be a candidate.

Its possible, but it wont top Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2 or Arkham Asylum.

Good point, but i dont think it has near the pull that Little Big Planet had. Maybe itll take Handheld Game of the Year, but it wont win the overall award.

You should play it before you say it will be GotY though and you were saying it will win GotY.

Exactly why "predicting" it to be the success it was isn't really much to brag about. It was a given that it was going to be successful. It's like saying a Mario game or Halo 3 was going to be a huge success.

I could see it topping B:AA. MW2 will probably win it.

Its hype exploded at E3 and won a bunch of awards, including "Best of Show", from a lot of outlets. I don't remember how well LBP did but I'm sure Scribblenauts' pull is pretty close to what LBP's was.

I dont need to play it to predict that it will win Game of the Year. Thats my prediction based off everything we have seen and going by the fact that the last game was as good as it was. I feel Naughty Dog will go way above and beyond what made the first game such a stand out thus nabbing it the overall best game for 2009. Now you are right, maybe the game is just going to fall flat and in no way deserve that title. I happen to think thats very unlikely and itll be the opposite. Again, i dont need to play it to predict it will be the GOTY. Period.

Sales wise yes, gameplay wise no. Again, what im saying is just going over your head. You have said its basically impossible to say a game will be worthy of GOTY before one has played it, thats just not true. I used MGS4 as an exapmple. That was a game many knew was going to be fantastic and it was due to previous versions of the game and industry reaction. Its what im doing with Uncharted 2. Get it yet?

I could see it topping B:AA. MW2 will probably win it.

No, it wont top B:AA. MW2, i cant disagree with you really. The AIAS gave the first Modern Warfare title the overall Game of the Year, it could happen again. I still think Uncharted takes it, but thats me.

A handheld isnt going to win the AIAS Game of the Year award. Not saying it doesnt deserve it, i just dont see it happening.
