Batman: Arkham Asylum

there are plenty of occasions in B:TAS and the books where he didn't have **** or had just a grappling hook and some batarangs....

An easier explanation as to why he didnt have all the equipment from the start? Its a damn game.

I just started a new game on hard and the combat is soooo much more rewarding. They should have taken those little blue warning lines off in all the difficulty modes. I should have played through the game on hard the first time out.

How do you get to the batcave the second time? I keep getting blocked off by ivy's plants?

The parts when you start to get stoned from the fear toxin are great. I found the actual "running around avoiding his gaze" a little bland.

The last time you see him I thought my disk got scratched and went back to the dashboard. Then I realized it was part of the game.

I'm assume Croc killed him

Also, did anyone get up to I think 15th Arkham Chronicle? [blackout]Arkham mentions some patient with scales. Is he talking about Croc?[/blackout]

Finished with the Riddles and deciphiring Arkham's past.

Now onto all the challenges.

Maybe I'm a little slow on this one, but I just noticed that only some of the riddles and Riddler trophies you pick up actually unlock stuff. I didn't even notice I wasn't unlocking anything with 3/4 of them when I solved/collected them.

Did you have to go back and find Joker Teeth you missed? I went into the mansion and I'm missing 3 but I couldn't find any.

The only place I missed the Joker teeth were in the mansion.

Try looking in the upper balcony of the Warden's Office, you might miss them when taking on Zsasz.

I missed those. Oddly enough, I heard them during the Zsasz part and grapneled up to get them but I couldn't see them for some reason. I ran around there so long that Zsasz killed the hostage. :o

I'm awful at the combat, by the way. Highest combo I've gotten is 35. I always screw up the timing or hit the wrong button and miss a counter or something. I do love doing those special takedowns, though.

I collected the spores and I need to get back to the bat cave to make the antidote. But every entrance I find is blocked by Ivy's plants?

I've been stuck for over an hour, am I missing something?

sorry for sounding like a broken record

I'm at my wit's end with these free flow challenges. I'm just saying **** it, seeing as I no matter how hard I try one of the guys with a tazer or knife always knicks me just a little bit.

I think I'm just going to do the silent predators ones, wrap up some loose ends and it's getting sold.

I may not be remembering it correctly but here is what I think you need to do:

Go to where the entrance to Croc's lair is. From there, zipline to the southwest corner of the room (I'm using the directions according to the map, btw). Follow the map to the Batcave. I believe you have to go through a duct somewhere and then glide to a bridge that leads to the cave. I don't have my guide with me right now so I'm not sure.

I didn't get those. I think I tried grappling but must not have been in the right spot.

Aaaalrighty so I finally beat this thing at 87% and

I honestly don't see the problem that people have with the ending. Basic boss battle stuff, yeah. A little easy, YEAH. As an end to the story though, I thought it was pretty good. I quite liked Joker's transformation more than I expected (and I called it...months ago). He reminded me of the Boogeyman from The Real Ghostbusters. The only issue I had was with the stupid exploding fist. That just...well, that just doesn't make any sense.

Glad to see Scarecrow's alive though! :D

It was pretty silly, but I didn't mind it. Obviously, it's a video game so liberties are going to be taken. Croc being like 12 feet tall and having super-strength, amphibious breathing abilities, and razor sharp claws and teeth all explained away by "a skin condition" annoyed me more than the ending, especially with Venom/Titan right there to explain his monstrous appearance and powers. But even that was relatively minor because it's just a video game.

I did like this Croc though. It's like they took the regular version and made him Jim Lee sized. He was a genuinely scary dude and his boss battle had me jumping every time the phone even rang. I'm glad he wasn't defeated with fisticuffs. How Batman manages to pull that off in the comics is beyond me cause I saw that guy and thought "What the hell is a punch from going to do to him?"

Yeah, he was cool in the game. But how hard would it have been for his profile to have a "Croc recently gained additional powers and grew to massive size due to further mutations he received from blah blah blah" line? It stretches my ability to suspend disbelief pretty far for other characters to just nonchalantly treat the cause of this towering giant with crocodile-like powers and super-strength as a perfectly normal, everyday skin condition. That works when Croc's some normal-sized d-bag who sharpens his own teeth to be perceived as fiercer in the comics, not when he's 12 feet tall and cracking high-grade security glass with his punches.

I just finished the game...albiet at 66% but whatever.

Going back to the main menu, am I right in seeing that there is no "mission select" menu? ergo, I can't go back and fight the boss battles again? :csad:

See I always thought he was DC's version of a mutant, a meta, so I never really questioned it. It was as normal as Beast turning into a lion for me.

no mission menu is correct. you can continue the game to find all the collectables but if you want to fight the bosses again i believe you must replay the game.

i'm just working on the challenges now and i'll have the 100% game

Honestly, I wouldn't want to play any bosses again unless you count Scarecrow.
