Batman: Arkham Origins - Part 1

Wasn't the rumored story supposed to be Batman's first run-in with Joker or something, though?

If that is the case then the are really overplaying the Deathstroke, Blackmask story. I really hope Joker has a good role but the main plot doesn't revolve around him, something like the Penguin. Because if in the end it was all about Joker I will be kinda disappointed. 2 games with him being the center is enough for right now, 3 in a row would be overkill IMO.

Yeah, it's kind of downplaying the importance of Batman's other villains as if between them they couldn't hold it together without some compulsory appearance from The Joker...every time. I was a bit disappointed after the great build up with the ominous sounding Strange at the end of AC as a result and I don't want to be at all disappointed with Deathstroke & Black Mask (who looks awesome!) in this.

Btw did the cutscenes for AC look anything like this? I can't remember them being this good?

The original AC trailer was almost the exact same quality of CGI. It was...quite amazing.


The gameplay shots look a tad bit stylized compared to the other games in the franchise, IMO.

Eh, better too much Joker than not enough. Look at Spider-Man and his games. Whens the last time we got Osborn/Goblin as the main antagonist? Spider-Man the movie game? Oh and no, lame ass Ultimate Goblin doesnt count.

I doubt Joker will be the main bad guy tho. I think WBM kinda want to do their own thing to a degree and theyll focus on villains that RS hasnt really focused on. Blackmask, Deathstroke and a GOOD BANE!

But, if Joker ends up being the main, ill be fine with it as that means we get to see the event that really cements his "arch nemesis" status with Batman.

Its going to be bigger than a cameo, but i dont think it'll be larger than say Cobblepots stuff from Arkham City.

Like some of the previews said, Joker hasnt established himself as Batmans top foe, but Batman knows theres something about the dude. So maybe we'll get to see Joker do some stuff that really has Batman taking notice. Looking forward to seeing those early interactions.

I've got to admit, I'm glad Joker is in the game. I'd like to see his first hit out with Batman, but would prefer it to just be that. One component.

I got to thinking about collector edition ideas if they decide to do one. Asylum had the Batarang, City had the Batman statue, so I was thinking in the case of physical stuff a Batman vs Deathstroke statue would be epic.

Yea that would be really cool, altho im running out of damn space in my room haha. And id just HAVE to get that if that were to be the case.

Yeah i mentioned this earlier but i almost feel as if the game creators (wb montreal/rs) think that a batman game can't work/won't sell without joker being in it and promoted?

Sometimes too much of a good thing can be bad. Imagine how diluted and tired of the joker we'd be if he was in every single batman movie? I think we're already at that point with the arkham series.

I hope it wasn't a corporate decision made for them i.e the general public doesn't really know deathstroke, black mask etc. so at least throw the joker in it..

I'm actually thrilled the Joker is in it, provided he isn't the main villain. When he is simply playing a role of interference or a criminal nuisance, I think he can shine. I also like it when his influence negatively affects other villains.

They got all of Rocksteady's assets. Unless you expect something entirely different from the last two games, there's nothing to worry about. The game will play just fine.

I can see WB forcing WB Montreal to put Joker in, but at the same time I don't see the point. At this point you can make a Batman: Arkham game where the only enemies are generic ninjas & it'd sell a boatload.

Probably debunked with this one, last I heard the rumored prequel was supposed to be that game you mentioned

I don't want to see some gameplay, I want to try it
I played Arkham Asylum on both my PC and PS3, after seeing videos of very smooth play I didn't expect to play as a Batman stopping the fight halfway through, on both systems
Thank God it didn't happen in any of the other games with free flow combat system, I almost loathed that fighting system because of BAA

yeah i said the same thing two pages, back with two face the poster. which he quoted . Let's let them confirm if it was just to throw us off or not, Or if Rocksteady is working on more then one project. And who knows? That the JL thing might be released after Arkham 3, but is seeking it's own audience /fanbase. In which case if it's seeking it's own "Audience" it won't matter when it's released and shouldn't matter.

We'll still be getting Arkham 3 regardless. There shouldn't be a problem their allowed to do that.

So that image looks easily distinguishable and looks not the same as Injustice
