Batman: Arkham Origins

I want to see them do Green Arrow.

Leave Flash or Superman to Rocksteady. If Rocksteady chooses one, I would be open to WBM doing the one Rocksteady didn't pick.

After what I saw in Arkham Knight, I need WBM to do a Suicide Squad game, and do a certain character some justice again. I could imagine a Suicide Squad game to be similar to the Mercenaries game from last gen.

I think this game gets a lot of undeserved flak. The biggest problem it had was that it had so many glitches at launch. Such as the game freezing. But most of those have been patched since then.

Beyond that, I found it a perfectly cromulent game. Yes the gameplay was virtually identical to City, so no, it wasn't innovative. But no less fun. The story was actually better than City's. It had a FAR superior version of Bane, in both looks and story. Origins' Bane felt like a primary mastermind and a threat, whereas Asylum/City's Bane was... more of a sub-boss/side-quest lunkhead. I think that's the best version of Bane outside the comics. Furthermore, it introduced a lot of new villains to the franchise and gave some obscure ones exposure, without over-using most of the already established ones.

All and all, not a bad game, freezing problems not withstanding. CCH was also much better than HQ's Revenge. And now people can't go around saying it's not canon as not only has Rocksteady said that they consider it canon, but Arkham Knight also makes a few references to Origins.

Origins is my favorite game, aside from the quite-challenging upgrade tree, the not so fast-travel system and the glitches (which I only had a couple minor ones), IMO, it has the best story and pacing in the whole series, it has the one Joker twist that works, great characterization, fast combat, interesting enemy types (Venom users, enforcers, ninjas), great boss battles, and a nice atmosphere in Christmas.

This game deserves more love. I hope WB Montreal develops new games in this continuity so that they make me forget the horrible AK ending; and with the lesson learned, give us a perfect game without glitches.

You miss understood me. I'm saying that Joker will have presence in the game in some fashion.

He's been a MAJOR presence in the games. [blackout]Even in AK, he's dead but he still has more exposure than Scarecrow and AK. It's ironically his biggest role in the 4 games.[/blackout] I think what Nathan means is he wants a Batman game that doesn't focus on the Joker.

More and more I am glad that I've decided to wait for the GOTY edition.

Next Batman game should take a page from Sly Cooper

Imagine the next Batman game you come back to Batcave you choose one of the Batfamily and do story Mission as them like what you do in Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time you go to the The Hideout and choose Between Bentley, Murray and that time period ancestor

Joker fight in this game is a most satisfying end, you just beat the crap out of Joker in gratitude to all the chaos he cause through the game, to all the painful fights, for all the @$$#0735 he throws in during fights against Bane.
Screw it, I bought the Season Pass lol
For Arkham Origins?
You should have the full game without the need for that.

I ordered the Complete Edition for the PS3 today, even though I already own it on PC. But that's ok, since I paid less than 20 bucks for the game with the Season Pass, the first time got it. And the Complete Edition only cost me 25. Now I can finally enjoy that Azbat skin.

:awesome:

Man, that outfit is the embodiment of 90's superhero comic books. It looks cool, and shiny, and completely useless with no practicality on any level. And looking at it now, yeah it's even dumber than I remember. But, you never quite realize just how dumb it really looks until you see it in the game. Having him lean from cover out of the corner, and having him turn his head...it's kinda amazing. You also realize, that no matter what the thing is made of, it's gotta wind up weighing atleast like 50 pounds or something.

Man, Jean Paul Valley was one crazy mother****er. And the 90's were a crazy ****ing time for comics.

I maintain to everyone that Origins has the best story and characterisation of the Arkham games.

And it's sadly the only game that isn't getting a Remaster for current consoles. Not yet at least. But I'm not exactly hopeful. It gets too much flak, for not being done by Rocksteady and being buggy at launch.

well they did the director's cut ( that edition as they called it ) most that bought it later like havok don't see the bug's any more at all it'll if anything. If & when it is ported those people will have to shut up. it's fine now. most new people will see it's not as an issue anymore.

Glad I stick to PC more than I play different generations of consoles.
No need to wait for remaster versions.

I haven't beaten Akrham Knight yet, but I agree. Origins had the best writing and characterizations. Even minor things, like Croc NOT looking like the Lizard from Spider-Man (which was probably a sin of the comics more than Rocksteady's, in the end), Bane not being bigger than a house, Batman moving the narrative forward by actively investigating and tracking down leads. I really liked how Origins pulled things back a little bit, and the Nolan Films inspired visual aesthetic really made me happy.

Even Lady Shiva looked spot on. If Arkham City had Shiva, I have serious doubts that she would have been as spot on as that.

It's kinda sad to hear that WB Montreal isn't going to make another Batman game. I thought they deserved another shot, one without a brutal deadline that kneecapped them during development.
