Batman: Arkham Origins

I don't know what article it was, or if it even was a video, but Deathstroke was supposed to have a bigger part in the game. And I think they either ran out of time, or just couldn't get it to work properly. He was going to hunt Batman, and not just appear for a single fight.

Yeah that sounds 100x better than one boss fight. Deathstroke should of had a more substantial presence and role in the game.

I still have yet to pick up Origins because I've been waiting to see if there is going to be a complete edition with all the DLC, it would of been a great game to play for the holidays...oh well.

The weird thing is, Europe has a Complete Edition that comes with all DLC. But I can't find it anywhere else.

Europe gets alot of cooler stuff. :cmad: Dumb America!

Over the past 3 days, I've been replaying Arkham Origins on a new file to get the sonic shock batarang I missed before, and perhaps complete the Shadow Vigilante and Worst Nightmare tracks. I've made good progress on both, very close to completion. Thank God for new game +...

Except...I played this file on easy, and NG+ is only doable after beating normal mode...so then...what is someone supposed to do with easy mode if they can only play it once? What sense does that make? I can get the rest of the upgrades. But if I want to complete the challenges, I have to start ANOTHER new profile!!!:cmad::cmad::cmad::cmad:

Easy mode is literally just a waste of time. What the hell man?

OK, I got the all gadgets trophy, now I will erase my 95% completion file and start anew. This one is for all marbles.

so i beat it, but i don't remember it ever explaining why bane was here. Batman questions it at the beginning too. Bane in this game does not seem the type to take orders

He wasn't. He was being offered a load of money to kill Batman. And if you recall in the Royal Hotel scene, Joker tried to give him orders, and Bane put him in his place.

Man, sometimes I can't figure out the enemy countering in this game. Sometimes enemies move too fast, I counter as quick as humanly possible and I get hit. I can never figure out if it's just the difficulty or a glitch. For as much as I counter when i see that icon, I get hit a lot....meh.

Ya know I just realized, WB Montreal made an new giant building called Gotham Light and Power, yet they didn't do anything with it. I'd have loved to see the inside of it, could have been a plot point.

I was assuming that it was going to be revealed that he came just to try and prove his superiority over batman. Is money normally a motivation for him?

I'm sure besting Batman was a factor in it, considering it's mentioned in the game that Batman is the one who haunts Bane's nightmares.

Yeah, Bane's been motivated by money many times in the comics. He's worked for Lex Luthor for money. Heck after he broke Batman he took over all the rackets and gangs in the Gotham underworld.

thanks,

I thought this game had by far the best story (i understand joker fatigue but i'm evaluating it purely as a stand alone game, so i'm not holding jokers 3rd appearance as main villain against it.) though the worst combat. I found the counters didn't work nearly as well as the other games, or didn't work at all (like during a ground finisher, which meant I only used the move like max 10 times)

I have heard sever people say they felt like the counters didn't work but I never had that trouble at all but to me this game had the worst story off all of them but still good city had the best story to me.

The counters work fine. Do you realize that some of the advanced enemy types require you to press counter multiple times? Also, you were never able to counter during a ground finisher in any of the games, so that's nothing new. I liked the story in this game and it also has the best boss fights overall. There's no competition between the bane fight in this game and in Asylum. The Deathstroke and firefly fights were great too.

I agree, the story is by far the best of the trio of games. They nailed the character relationships. Batman and Gordon, Batman and Alfred, Batman and Joker, Batman and Bane, Joker and Harley, Batman and Barbara etc. I could watch their scenes endlessly.

Personally I never had any trouble with the counters in combat mode.

Well I finally got all Dark Knight tracks completely. Two more trophies and a skin added. All that's left now is to get all challenge map medals. The DKT really weren't all that hard. I grossly over estimated them. I should restarted ages ago.

Ya I knew you had to counter multiple times. the one i never could figure out was how you counter the knife guys. I'd always just dodge. In the other game I definitely could counter during ground finishers. I used to do them in the middle of a big fight all the time but wasn't able to here

seems like all those bugs i read about are pretty much fixed. Game froze on me twice, and once Batman ran up on top of some jnk that took me a minute to get off of. Also wasn't able to interrogate once during that mission where the cops murder another cop

The story overall is better told IMO then in the previous arkham games.
It has some things that mess up the timeline and stuff, but overall its fantastic.

Sadly, since the last update a year ago or so...the first martial artist have a strange bug in which they go in for a attack, but stop and stand still.
It always messes up my flow and is really annoying...since i love the martial artistst.

Strangly it only happens the first 3 times you encounter them storywise, in free roam etc they are comepletely normal.

Hold the conter button+backwards for each swing of the knife guy's arm.
Considering that backward is the opposite direction of that which the goon is looking.

I could do that, but he would just dodge, he never countered

That's because you're holding the counter button all the way for the whole action. You have to let go after the first swing of his arm and the second swing. Each time the enemy tries to knife you, you hold the counter button+backwards. You can't hold it all the way or Batman will just dodge.

From what I remember, the knife guy tries to attack you 3 times. Hold the buttons during each attack only and release while the goon's arm is moving for the next attack. If you do it successfully Batman will counter-attack during the guy's third move.

Basically, you have to hold the counter button+backwards 3 times during this action.

One of the most fun things in this game is to carry electricity with a remote controlled batarang and hit some a thug with it, the shock effect is priceless.
If only I could use that tactic on the blasted snipers.

I have no clue why I have yet to try that. Well, it'll be remedied tonight.
