Iron Man is more watchable and enjoyable than Batman Begins. Yeah, BB is pure brilliance and I love every second of it, but it lacks the fun, accessible action tone that I like from comic book movies. It stands only second to Iron Man IMO.

from the looks of it Nolan Bumps up the action in this next rendittion.

Iron Man for me. I  BB but it didn't have the fun and pacing of Iron man. I never got bored with Iron Man and the action delivered excellently. The story had it's fair share of twists like BB but still managed to have a fun, lighthearted feel while still keeping things serious unlike Fantastic Four and FF:ROTS. The Dark Knight looks incredible and my opinion might change with that film but for me, Iron man is my favorite comic film until July. Then we'll see what happens :cwink:

I love Iron man but it is quickly becoming really overrated just like BB was back in 2005. Theyre both great movies but God...esp Iron Man. Don't get me wrong, I loved it but its just getting way too much praise than it deserves. It certainly doesn't deserve a 93% on RT (I'd give it more like a 86 or 87).

That being said I think Batman Begins is the better film.

Is Iron Man as dull and boring as BB? The poll is dead locked.

Why do you think it's overrated?

Why do you think it's overrated?
Because people are praising it like the best thing since sliced bread.
Its good but not that good.
I think the RT has been misinterpreted too. Most of the critics seem to be saying that its a good movie but it promises an even better sequel. Kind of like Spider-man 1. It just doesn't deserve the hype its getting, its not that stellar to be honest. I had lots of fun in the theater and its my favorite movie of the year but 94% fresh rating...I don't think so.

In my book there isn't one single area where Iron Man isn't better then Batman Begins. Iron Man features better acting, dialogue, story, visuals, action and humor. Batman Begins is a good film but I still don't see how this can even be close.

Iron Man is elite level entertainment in league with Spider-Man 2 and X2. Now, start a debate between Batman Begins and Daredevil the directors cut and you have a legitimate debate. Street level characters with similar origins. Batman Begins features better character development. Daredevil features better fight sequences. Both casts are good but the edge goes to Bale as the lead.

My top 5 comic book films:
01. Spider-Man 2
02. Spider-Man
03. Batman Begins
04. Iron Man
05. Batman '89

So, yeah, I think that Batman Begins is a better film, but not significantly better. BOTH movies are fantastic!

I love Batman, and he's, no question, my favorite character. :brucebat: And though I do love Batman Begins, I have to admit that I feel Iron Man is a better film. I think it got just as many things right as BB did, but ultimately succeeded better.

It had plenty of depth without trying too hard or coming across as pretentious, and was also fun. The special effects were great, the cinematography was well done. And the cast was very solid. BB would have been more fun for me not if it had more action and eye candy like IM, but if it had the serious tone it wanted, minus the constant poetic exposition, and with more natural developement of the themes and story, etc. So Iron Man wins this one for me.

Batman was too boring and took itself too seriously.
Iron Man was the best starter.
For a simple establishing thing so we can now go forward with more developed villains and the complexities of Stark's booze problem, Iron Man was the best.

Batman Begins is still better, imo.
but Iron Man is great, too. they're almost tied, for me.

my top 5?
Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man
X-Men 2
Batman Begins
Iron Man

Iron Man 2 can blow everyone away. with the Demom in the Bottle Storyline...War Machine...it has the highest chances.

Iron Man.

It's coherent with the tone that was chosen and iot works perfectly within it.

My top 5 comic book films:

02. Spider-Man
03. Batman Begins
04. Iron Man
05. Batman '89

Really? I'd say

1. Iron Man & Batman Begins
2. X2: X-Men United
3. X-Men
4. Spider-Man
5. Daredevil

and to continue to number 10...

6. Batman '89
7. Batman Returns
8. Superman: Returns
9. X-Men: The Last Stand
10. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

That's right, I think Iron Man and Batman Begins are about tied for me. Love them both and both are different from each other in their own ways... However, The Dark Knight is going to PWN 'em both!

its official: Iron Man is as overrated in 2008 as Batman Begins was in 2005, and as Spider-Man 2 was the year before that, and as X2 was the year before that...

Cant wait to see what nitpicking flaws people will cite about IM

Both are great starters for their respective franchises, each person will weigh the pros and cons of each, and come to their own conclusions, for me I loved Iron Man, everything about it was the way Iron Man should be, but Batman Begins was also very good.

Without BB Iron Man doesn't have nearly the success. After all, BB was the premise upon which Iron Man built its approach.

They are both great films.

Question:
Is there any acting in Iron Man bad enough to compare to the tripe delivered by Katie Holmes?

Didn't think so :woot:
