Well, no wonder you don't understand. :oldrazz:
No, I don't understand because people have short attention spans and like the stupidest, most cliche movies....so its no surpise people have elevated Iron man from just a "good to average film" to an "AMAZING OMG!" movie.

Btw, did you even see Hellboy II? :whatever:

Of course I did, in what way would you consider it better than Iron Man?
And there are plenty of people who would call Batman Begins stupid.
It's all about your own personal superhero fetishes.

Iron Man was passable, but I liked The Incredible Hulk better. Hulk seemed (at least to me) more in depth. Please note that this is solely my opinion and probably differs from everyone else's.

You took the words right out my mouth! Its a good film I had fun but why do people concider it to be 'amazing'...it was full of cliches and it wasn't visually spectacular, it was just a fun film. I give it a 8/10..its NOT amazing like people stay and I still don't understand how it got a freakin 93% of the tomatoemeter ...Even Hellboy II was a better film and that got a 88%.

TDK>>>>>>>>BB>>>>>>>>>Iron Man.

Good movie just not as good as everyone says. Although I am sure IRon Man 2 is going to be A LOT better (It seems like part 2's are always the best of superherofilms.) and I cant wait to see that.

Agreed totally, it was simply nothing spectacular at all, Hellboy II was a lot better than IM as a movie IMO, better action, characterisation, set design, you name it. And both BB and TDK were better movies as well. This is coming from someone who has been a fan of Marvel a lot longer than DC and Hellboy.

Nice to see the polls are so close on this one. I voted Iron Man, but it didn't beat out BB by much.

I thought IM was better than Hellboy II personally, though I enjoyed that too.

But the right movie is winning the poll.

I thought that there was something about both of these movies that turned me off...I don't know what it was but...For me, it prevented both of these movies from being "Great"!

BB for me. I can relate to it's main character a lot more, and it's overall a better movie in my opinion.

IM has the rewatchability factor, though.

IRON MAN!

I just enjoyed the movie much more than BB. Downey was awesome, while Bale's Batman has never impressed me. His Bruce Wayne is really good, though.
Ditto. His Bruce is awesome, but the Batvoice must go.

BB.

As much as I enjoyed IM, it didn't have that big epic sweep or a good musical score to bolster the action or images. I enjoyed IM, but I just wasn't bowled over by it. I do very much look forward to IM 2, though.

Begins. Batman is like my second favorite character though with Iron Man not even being top 5, so I'm kind of biased.

Batman Begins.

My decision may be biased since Batman is my favorite character but Ironman for me was nothing particulary spectacular. It was a good/fun movie and thats about it.

BB. Iron Man was good but it needed another half or so of development and payoff to reach BB status.

I liked both movies, but Batman Begins was the better comic book movie overall. There both completely different superheroes & deal with different situations. I do however feel that Iron Man is much cooler & looks cool blowing crap up but that is about it.

Iron Man is more fun...But I think Batman Begins might be a better movie...

Acting and story were not better in Hellboy II.

I like both, but BB wins for me. There's something more grand about the story. Yeah, it kind of falls apart in the last act of the movie, but Iron Man did too (Stane had little to no motivation for doing the things he did). BB's final act may have been kinda crazy, but at least it felt epic still. Iron Man, while good kinda had a minor final confrontation.

Control of the company and steering it towards more militant routes. Hence why he filed the injunction and kept trying to obtain the mini arc-reactor technology.

Iron Man wasn't about being "epic," so that's a point in its favor.

And as far as chracterization goes, Rachel Dawes was terrible no matter who was playing her. The only function she served was to be against Bruce Wayne no matter what he did.

Wants to kill Falcone? "Your father would be ashamed of you."
Has a fun night out on the town? "Well, who else [will do the right thing] when you're too busy swimming?"
Reveals he's Batman? "The Bruce I knew vanished years ago....maybe when Gotham no longer needs Batman."
Tries to give up being Batman? "Don't make me your only hope for a normal life."

I still think that Iron Man is better as an overall movie then Batman Begins was.
People probably insist on BB because it makes them feel smarter and more sophisticated for doing so.

LMAO!! what?

I'm sorry when it comes down to Batman Begins or Iron Man I doubt thats the case. They are not thought-provoking films....I could understand if you said that about Iron man vs 2001: A space oddesey (which I do happen to LOVE :o...but yeah) but Batman Begins vs Iron man....are you kidding me? :hehe:

Totally agree with the bolded part.

The non bolded part, not so much :yay:.

A measure of a good movie to me is how I look back after I saw it and think good things. I thought more about IM after watching it than Hellboy II, but again, that is me personally.

BB is a movie I go back to in my mind more than either, though.

I just rewatched Iron Man again, and it just came off as corny to me. BB>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Iron Man.

To inject myself into the conversation:
That's exactly it and you're not fooled by it, which cannot be said about most impulsive teens and fan boys.
Bubonic wasn’t talking about the movies. He gave his views on the audience’s perception and the rationalisation behind their own choice.
