Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 4

Jake G would have been solid. Or the guy form Knightfall.

Honestly now, I'd just prefer an "unknown to rising actor" in his late 20's or early 30's. American or Canadian or British. 5'11-6'1.

Has Ethan Peck been brought up. I’ve never seen him act but look wise , he is Bruce Wayne

didn't peck in one interview say he wanted Batman?

Does Armie get suggested so much because of that Justice League Mortal project, or is there some other reason why people always seem to come back to him? Has he commented on playing Batman recently?

I'm just curious because he seems like one of about a hundred guys in his age range that could potentially fit the bill but doesn't really stand out to me. So I'm curious why people see him as the "obvious" choice.

There’s a couple factors I think. JL Mortal is one of them obviously, but he is a tall/big guy, conventionally handsome, has acted with Henry Cavill before and they had good chemistry, and he could also pass for a younger Ben Affleck Batman if they wanted to commit to it being a prequel to the current DCEU “timeline.”

If he wasn't so "old", I would have loved to see Matthew Goode (40).
He was great on The Crown.

I scroll through cop & military shows to pick out a Bruce Wayne.

Evan Peters would make a good Joker in case Reeves replaces Leto and the Phoenix movie is really not in the same universe as Reeves Batman.

Count me in as someone who doesn't understand the appeal of Armie Hammer either.

Like is everyone forgetting the Man From UNCLE movie? It wasn't very good. It bombed. It only received fairly middling reviews. Nothing about his chemistry with Cavill in that movie blew me away. In fact, I thought Hammer was pretty unconvincing as a Russian, and he wasn't very good as Kuryakin.

I also recall, generally all his attempts at being a leading man have ended in failure.

I'm not saying he could never be a good Batman. I just don't see it. It's like the only reason people are thinking Hammer is because he's tall.

Why does it even have to be a known actor?

A big yes to Pelphrey. I've never seen Iron Fist but fanboys have practically raved about him in it. I prefer my Batmans on the younger side so he's perfect.

Gosling would be fine if they're looking for a bigger name.

A definite no for Hammer, Harington, and Hamm. Hammer is just too soft-looking, even when he's trying to look tough. Harington is also too babyfaced, even more than Hammer. Hamm's just too damn old for this.

I like Harington and all, but he's such an uninspired choice. I could maybe see him as Dick Grayson/Nightwing or a younger hero, but not Bruce Wayne/Batman.

It's like fan casting him for Wolverine. Playing Jon Snow doesn't make him Batman or Wolverine.

^I can accept uninspired choices if I think the actors can do the job. But I don't believe Harington would make a convincing Bruce, nor do I believe he'd look any good in a cowl, so he's a no-go for me.

I knew there was someone I forgot in my previous post: Aidan Turner. I'd prefer him for Bond but failing that he'd make a credible Batman.

I'd accept Turner over Harington or Hammer. Not sure he's the best choice, but easily over Harington or Hammer if I had to choose between those 3.

Yay! One more on board the Tom Pelphrey train.

No, never, not in a zillion years, and I legitimately don't care how much of a good actor he is. You might as well cast John Goodman if you're considering Adam Driver, they both look as similar as Bruce Wayne.

Adam Driver is tall, dark, intense. Maybe not conventionally handsome, but he’s definitely has a following. He’s be great.

A new name: Killian Scott. He was the star of the short-lived TV series Damnation, and the last couple of seasons of Ripper Street. He's very tall, thin, and dark-haired.

I like Adam Driver and Robert Pattinson, though I'm leaning towards the latter.

I don't like to change race for characters, but I would rather Idris Elba than Adam Driver:
