More than half that list were actually pursued for (and cast as) Batman at some point before, so it's not too far-fetched. It's gonna be like Bond casting rounds, where the leftovers from the previous auditions come back around again.

I don't doubt they would want Bale back, I'm just not sure if Bale wants to come back, especially in the franchise in it's current state. But money talks.

There was another reveal they posted a few days ago saying, as expected, WB is annoyed with what Affleck was saying during the JL promotion.

I actually think they would take Bale and Nolan back if the opportunity presented itself. There where trying to get him and his Batman for BvS , and they tossed around the idea of Levitt's Batman in BvS.

They even discussed the idea of Bale playing a different version of the character. That shipped has said now with Reeves in tow.

I don't see why Bale couldn't return to play this version of Batman, who has a completely different backstory. Imagine Bale with that more comic accurate suit, in a Reeves Trilogy (no Nolan, unless he wants to get in on producing), Jeremy Irons as Alfred, J.K Simmons as Gordon, a new Joker etc?? That **** would be incredible, but it won't happen because Bale probably has too much respect for Nolan. I'd assume his knee jerk reaction would be "nah, we did it already, it's done, and i just put on a bunch of weight for the Dick Cheney movie so i don't want to train with that amount of time.."

If you're WB right now, of course you would be annoyed with Affleck and the current state of the DCEU. They went from total critical and commercial success with Bale in the role, to being forced to reboot and then what? Lukewarm to negative response, box-office going down with each new Batman installment. They would be fools not to long for the Bale era. But what is this site?? I'm going to guess it's fake, and Reeves will get Gyllenhaal as planned. But i can't help myself but imagining Bale sink his teeth back into this character..

EDIT: it says "all that (money) for just one movie". That could work for Bale. But i seriously doubt this is real.

I think he did come out and say he wishes he did a better job as Bats , but I doubt it'll happen, and it'll just confuse the hell out of the general public.

I'd sooner believe that I'll be getting a call from Matt Reeves tomorrow offering me the role.

Still, the idea of Bale returning to play a completely new take on the character is intriguing, perhaps even unprecedented. Talk about a bombshell.

However, a lot of that story rings false. For starters, "if he can lose the weight and grow back his hair?" The Batman isn't shooting for another six months at least, so how is that even a concern? Secondly, no way in hell is a studio paying an actor $100 million for one movie. Hell, that's enough to fund the entire damn movie itself.

I think if WB were able to get the band back together, i.e. Nolan/Bale/Caine/Oldman/Freeman for another film, the GA would totally be down for it.

It would certainly cause shockwaves among the fan community and cause splits among various factions as usual , but it would certainly make things interesting...

That'd be awesome. But alas, I think a teaser reveal like that would probably work best for a superhero like Superman or Spidey. I'd suggest something akin to the teaser for Batman Begins personally.

Oh it'll never happen. But it's a fun idea to joke about, I think.

Also, regarding that expanded rumor report from El Fanboy on the Gyllenhaal casting and the plans for Reeves' trilogy taking influence from David Fincher. Turns out El Fanboy might actually be a rather reliable source here.

Seems that he was the guy to break the news on just how expansive the Justice League reshoots were earlier this year and supposedly he also broke out similar news on the reshoots for Rogue One last year too, albeit on different websites. Seems like he probably helped break the news on the JL reshoots, but I'm not sure about the earlier R1 reshoots though.

That still doesn't mean any of this is confirmed, aside from the fact that Matt Reeves has spoken with Jake Gyllenhaal about the role. But it means this stuff is probably worth keeping in mind.

Multiple movies? That rumor says for one film so that could be tempting for ANY actor. But why would WB pay that much for one movie and no more guarantees when they can grab a dude like Jake who is ripped, a bit younger and more suitable for a new universe?
