Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread

I'm pretty sure Kutcher's film career is more or less behind him, but I would certainly enjoy those meltdowns.

Kutcher as Batman would make the film so unintentionally funny, same with Keanu Reeves. People who do comedic reviews on YouTube would be in heaven.

I mean it's too late since Marvel got him, but could see Ben Barnes playing Batman... or at least Bruce Wayne.

Lol. I remember when Keanu wanted to be Batman back in the late 90s post Matrix ,and he said he wanted Jack Nicholson to return as the Joker.

There were some really wild names thrown around post Batman and Robin. Then again, it was the 90s...

I would have suggested Ben Barnes if he were older especially if the DCEU insists on keeping an older Batman then he would be out of the running but if they do go younger then he would have been a pick had Marvel not picked him up already for The Punisher

But my pick still has to be Gyllenhaal

I think if WB were able to get the band back together, i.e. Nolan/Bale/Caine/Oldman/Freeman for another film, the GA would totally be down for it.

It would certainly cause shockwaves among the fan community and cause splits among various factions as usual , but it would certainly make things interesting...

1.3 billion WW.

Never happen.

They want a more comic booky Batman now. Those grounded days are over after the success of the Marvel verse and Deadpool, etc.

After Justice League, and Reeves wanting to ground it more, I think your wrong.

I really want a movie that takes the 60s show’s aesthetics and updates them a bit. Darken it up if they must but Joker has to cover his mustache with makeup.

I think it's going to be somewhere in the middle. I can't imagine Reeves meshing with a MCU style of movie, but I also don't think we're in for something quite as stripped-down as the Nolan movies. I think we might be in for something more in the avenue of Mangold's Wolverine movies.

I hope :hmr:

No to Ben Barnes. He's failed in all his big movie efforts for a reason.

Gyllenhaal is a great actor but he's really no fit for Batman.

Choice of actor close in age to Affleck that will almost certainly not actually be our next Batman, but would be interesting to me nonetheless...

Agreed. I don't think it'll be quite as grounded in realism as Nolan's trilogy was, but I do anticipate Reeves to go for a more gritty look akin to what Mangold went for in his two Wolverine films. Especially Logan, I think.

I'm a fan of Gyllenhaal, but I can't see him as Batman or Bruce Wayne... I've always see him as wormy guy.

He could play Riddler also. If they offered him that instead of Bats I'd be for it.

Yeah, there's just something I always find fairly off-putting about him. I don't quite know what it is. But just something about him, especially in lead roles, always leaves me feeling "meh." There's just really nothing super exciting about him as an actor. I mean, he is talented enough. But any movie he is in, even ones he stars in, it always feels like he is just kind of there.

Honestly, and maybe this is mean, I'd have a hard time buying him as brainy enough to play Riddler.
