Doctor Jones: What, exactly, is it about Duhamel and Pitt that prevents you from 'seeing' them as Bruce/Batman, JOOC?

Don't like Matt ***** for Bruce at all. Every time I see him, even prior to knowing his sexuality, my gaydar goes off. It's just a vibe from him and it's not synonymous with Batman to me at all. Not putting him down or anything, I just don't see him as the part at all. Too "pretty" or whatever you want to call it. I don't get any commanding qualities from him.

No, no. Talking about how your gaydar and Matt's sexuality disqualify him as Batman doesn't sound like an insult at all.

If you ever have to qualify a statement about someone's sexuality with a disclaimer of any sort, you should probably keep your opinion to yourself.

Back to the topic on hand, I think Matt would be a fine choice. He's vastly improved over the years, and he's become quite nuanced. Some of the beauty of Batman's character is that it's not the facial expressions, but the body-language you need to watch. I think Matt could pull that off very well.

Speaking of a good actor, it's really too bad that there isn't a role for Tim DeKay. He's Matt's costar in White Collar, and he's just a fabulous actor. I have loved nearly every role he's ever taken on (anyone ever seen Carnivale? He played the crippled guy, Jonesy).

Honestly though, he could almost play Lex Luthor. Which is another thread, I know. Maybe tomorrow.

Brolin is too old as it is, but the issues with Diane Lane will keep him far from this project.

I like Armitage too.
If he doesnt become the next Doctor Who tomorrow, he could very well be the next Batman.

Duhamel is a less than mediocre actor. Let me ask you this: You really want that guy to follow Bale? I mean bringing his name up ironically is still a bit terrifying upon first word. That's how horrible he would be.

Pitt I don't really see, but I'll take him over Brolin, Duhamel, or any of those actors besides Gosling on that list any day of the week. Those names to absolutely nothing for me.

Like a glove.

I like Kinnaman too, but wouldn't him being Robocop be a problem for him to be Batman?

And no, I did not listen to the podcast. (tell you why below, lol)

I used to like Jett but he's become something of an egotistical *****e.

That's fine and like I said, his ego has grown. But I still like him and his site myself. But if you're going to bash someone, even if you have just reasons to dislike them in the first place, just make sure to get information straight.

I think 41-42 would be the cut off point and 32 would be as young as WB would go.
I cant see it with Jon hamm or brolin side by side with cavill makes it look like superboy vs batman. Im still holding out for Karl Urban, i like Matthew Goode so i think if he beefed up abit i think he would be good also, he has those michael keaton eyes.

They cast an actress years old than cavil as Lois Lane, but no one after seeing the film griped "Lois looked so much older than Clark". The age of the actor is not the age of character. So I think people are putting too much weight into the age of the suggested actors.

When you look to the joker you don't need to introdice villain because is not the main character because the main character need to be introduce but if you screw-up with the main charater your're screw-up for real. The success of a villain doesn't depend on is origin it depend how he will play the villain. Ledger never been introduce in the DK.

Duhamel is a less than mediocre actor.

Hmm. I happen to like Duhamel, as I first became aware of him during his time on NBC's Las Vegas, where he was the secondary headliner behind James Caan, but to each their own.

My 'top 3' picks of the names I said I liked would be Butler, Pitt, and Gosling (not necessarily in that order), as all 3 have the talent and range to pull off both 'facets' of the role believably.

He comes off as a very obvious gay guy in everything I have seen him in. I do not see him as Batman because of that. He'd be better suited to other roles.

I think he'd be terrible. If he had to play someone based on looks alone, it would probably be Superman. But I don't get a Batman vibe from him at all.

I still visit his site though. Lol.

I'm not sure that I ever "bashed" anyone, and I'm pretty sure I never "bashed" Jett - all I did was express my disdain for the idea of Pitt or Duhamel as Batman. Wasn't directed at Jett at all.

But I will be sure to make sure I have all of my facts straight in the event I do bash someone in the future. :word:

I just hope they don't get some crappy TV actor for the part. Some of you suggest Joe Manganiello and Jensen Akcles. JENSEN ACKLES!? The dude is pretty mediocre actor.

And yes, I have watched all seasons of Supernatural.

Keaton and Ledger have something in cummon they didn't face origin stories Keaton didn't face the origin of batman Ledger either, that's why it worked well, when you have to face the origin of your respective character it's much more difficult and complicate. In the Avengers they have introduce character with no origin but for all main character if you look they all have solid origin.

I'm shocked that Kinnaman guy was suggested. Not saying he looks like a crackhead but very crack-ish.

But seriously, dude looks horrible on AMC's The Killing.

Lots of tv actors have went on to massive film careers, don't be so dismissive. That said Ackles isn't a great choice for Bats.

Fassbender is Magneto, how magneto will play Batman it's completely ridiculous. Fassbender is a good actor his 35 years old but is Magneto, Jesus!

No he does not. Until details of his private life started leaking nobody really suspected him of being gay. Ironically enough people a few years ago said the exact same thing about Cavill and he had tons of gay rumors around him.

If you find some of the superman casting archives from a few years ago about half the posts on SHH were people questioning his sexuality.

Regardless his or any actors personal life should just stay that with regards to roles.
