Batman & Robin

Yeah but under your standard of 12th highest grossing is 12th best, Hancock is the 4th best movie of 2008. (I know you don't actually believe this, because if you did then you would say that B&R was better than "L.A. Confidential" which cannot be said by someone who is not either a liar, a troll, or a fool)

OR.....someone who has an opinion that differs from yours. Having a different opinion doesn't make someone a liar, troll, or fool.....it makes them someone with a different opinion.

Thank you.

I know that your real point is probably not "B&R was good" but "B&R is not as bad as they say" but you really set yourself up on that one.

Okay......Your point is?

That BO numbers don't mean anything when we talk about how good a movie is.

They don't. A bunch of people paid to go see Batman & Robin, it sucked. People moved on...

Good to laugh at.

Which is why I watch it. If I want a serious Batman I watch Batman Begins or TDK. If I want a good laugh I watch Adam West or George Clooney.

I think you should tell us why you thought it was good. If its as they say and you think it's funny you should tell us when it is funniest. If you thought there were serious parts that were good (I'm glad Payaso could be honest with himself about the Bruce/Alfred moment) you should tell us when. Also you should tell us if there was a concept(even if its depicted kinda badly) in it that you enjoyed.

Example: In Forever I enjoy the concept of Dick needing revenge and Bruce telling him that killing folks won't stop the pain (even though its not communicated in the best way)

Though I have sympathy for you because I am a defender of the 3rd film, but I personally have a pretty hard time getting through the whole thing (even with the Plan 9 from outer space mentality that it requires.) I wince a whole lot, mind altering substances do help though.

Well like you said i liked the concept that when Alref was sick Bruce still went out and handled buisness and even though him and Dick fougt alot they were still united and saved a city in need.

Also funny parts was some of the silly stuff going on like Batman credit card, Superman reference. ''Chicks dig the car.'' ''This is why Superman works alone''. Freeze cheesy ass lines. ''Hello everyone. ''Chill!!!!!!!!''. ''I hate it when people talk during the movies''.

It was better than Superman IV.

The biggest/ funniest flaw in this movie is that Alfred created a plastic moulded coustume to his niece's exact measurements. How'd he get them? And how did he feel when creating the butt and breasts?

Don't take this wrong....but how old are you? The reason I ask is....I'm old. I started reading comics in the early 60's.....the Batman I first knew was comical and goofy. He didn't really get serious until the 70's. So I have no trouble seeing him as both funny and serious. I think the Adam West Batman series is hilarious. I think Clooney's Batman and Robin is hilarious. This doesn't mean I don't like the serious Batman....In my opinion Batman Begins is not only one of the best comic book related movies made but one of the better movies of any genre made....but I have no problem with laughing at and with Batman.

To coin a phrase.....why so serious?

I'm 24. To me growing up as a kid I watched Batman the Animated series and my first two graphic novels were the Killing Joke and A Lonely Place of Dying. My mom had on the old 60's episodes when I was kid but I always thought they were lame, never cool. I was 4 when Batman (89) came out. So my Batman has always been dark. Thank god he got serious in the 70's or the character would have died out from all the cheese and camp. He started darker, and the 50's and 60's almost ruined him. Thank god he's back and stronger than ever.

I'm 52. I noticed a long time ago that people raised on the 70's and after Batman for the most part only want the serious Dark Knight characterization. Since I started out with the campy comical one as a kid....I seem to be more attuned to likeing it.

You have to realize too though....the 50's and 60's comical version was a direct result of Dr. Wertham's attack upon the comic book industry that caused the creation of the comics code and the forced cancellation of hundreds of titles.

That sucks. The 50s and 60's too me while the kept the industry alive and all, are just a a campy cheeseball-fest. A time period when looking back I'd rather have erased. I mean Batman fighting martians? Come on.
