BvS Batman V Superman Box Office Prediction - - - - Part 13

Because of BvS box office performance, WB is re-shooting scenes for Suicide Squad to make it more "fun" interesting.

Half of that statement is factual. The other is conjecture. The reshoots are definitely because of the box office though, one way or another.

The other rumor is they want to "improve" Jared Leto. I'm officially in WTF mode.

Coming out of BvS my daughter was adamant that they ought to have had Jesse Eisenberg play the Joker in SS. She's already dismissed Leto as "some loser from Hot Topic."

OTOH she's fired up beyond belief for WW.

Don't believe everything you hear son. -Bruce Wayne

There's a reason Ben and Will said Jared was amazing as Joker.

With any luck they can at least remove the tryhard "damaged" in post prod. I've got issues with SS Joker already; the least of which is that he's using electro-shock treatment and chemicals on Harley to give her severe brain damage so she'll date him. Not particularly romantic.

It scares me that they're adding jokes to SS now. I assumed it was already meant to be a jokey film; if they've tried to make it deadly serious too it's going to be depressing as hell.

Still, strangely, really looking forward to the WW movie.

It's kind of restoring my faith in humanity a bit. Bad movie does badly once people realise it's bad. If this thing had soared I would have been seriously worried about society in general :)

Speak for yourself. I loved BvS and it sucks to be part of a distinct minority in that regard, with fewer people defending this movie even than MoS.

From a box office perspective, I'm disappointed how this movie I really enjoyed made far less than reviled crap like Transformers, or unoriginal rehash/nostalgia bait like Jurassic World and The Force Awakens. I admired the boldness of a movie that at least tried to challenge the viewer and do something different, and unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective), the poor performance of BvS relative to expectations may result in a JL movie that tries to play it safe and ultimately risks becoming little more than a pale Avengers imitation.

If we're even lucky enough to get a JL movie at this point. That's the only reason box office matters at all from my perspective - I just want to see more movies featuring my favourite characters. :csad:

And there was NO reason for Affleck to say the movie will be like SE7EN or Aliens.

No additional reports on Monday numbers? Dare I suspect they could be bad? (worst than $3M)

Does it matter anymore?
Seriouslly, even Zootopia is having strong legs and making more money than BvS. And the movie has been out from some time now.

Well, if we care to post here about it, by definition, matters :)

I can see it now, all the box office rankings this coming week.

April 8th to 10th:

1) The Boss @ $25M

2) Zootopia @ 19M

3) Batman v Superman @ 15M, a 70% drop

Was that confirmed or was it a rumor? If it's true it has me worried. I don't see how well that would mesh with the tone of the film if they're just tacking on humor in there.

Nobody except those who are directly working on the film knows exactly what the reshoots are for. All insiders that share info to the scoopers do so on an anonymous basis so they keep working in the industry in the future. But based on they way the SS trailer made it seem like dark humor all over the place and the way BvS was it would make sense that they are trying to make the movie match the marketing. But nobody is going to know for sure unless we work directly for the film.

Believe it or not, guys. For me Zootopia is a movie that deserves to hit a billion! :) It's just that good!

Statistically speaking it's an improbability. Not even $800 million is a lock at this point. If the drops plateau exactly where they are we're looking at north of $850. If they decline exponentially.. well.

Also, thanks guys who contributed reference info to my new sig. Should help the new guys out :)

Wow. Thanks for that. Made my day :)

So it seems unlikely to even hit $900 million now? Just stunning.

This is a film that Box Office analysts will be talking about for months.

How a film, titled Batman v Superman, and having an opening day gross of $81M making it bigger than the 2012 Avengers film, bombed so bad. :(

That movie was.surprisingly deep for a lighthearted animation movie.

Welcome to Batman v Superman limbo, how low can it go

He didn't. He only used those movies to describe Batman's first appearance in the movie.

Like how Chris Terrio compared BvS to Empire Strikes Back and LOTR: The Two Towers :funny:

Wasn't he talking about the tone of BVS and not the movie in general?

Anyway... It's crazy to think this movie won't even hit $900 million. It will be interesting to see how WB proceeds, especially with JL.

$3.1 million.

Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.

Beware all ye who enter here...for ye shan't be able to predict what will happen next!
