You're the guy who remained "unconvinced" that TWS made more of a profit than MoS even after I showed you figures and estimations that put TWS' total gross in the neighborhood of 100 million more than MoS. Yeah, let's not start talking about "crusades" here, let's stick to the numbers.

In times like these with movies like there's there's always a ton of revisionist history at play. A month ago if you said this movie would come in at $999 million total you'd be chased into the Skepticism thread. Now apparently only a few few people thought it would hit $1 billion.

^That's so funny given this thread history was littered with people arguing a billion wasn't possible and they weren't chased anywhere. Alot of them arguing due to being a follow up to MOS alone and not what the avengers was, who'd have thunk.
One point came up often and it was that of quality, rather perceived quality. Again, look it up, or just continue with the narrative, which ever really.

You're the guy that hated mos and hates this movie too, yea let's not talk about crusades here...
It's a very odd game to play. Funny enough your numbers also came from a deadline report, one that has endless holes poked through it and their own admission at estimations(taked on producers fees ontop of the listed ones and sheer ignorance of other things). And here we are again leaning on a deadline report? One the studio reps claim is inflated no less?

I still remain unconvinced to be honest. For I said I was open to the idea but I haven't seen any proof for certainty. You were the one running around talking about proof proof positive. I'm pretty sure deadpool made more money than mos. I remain 'unconvinced' TWS did all things considered. Crusade or not. As for this particular poster, like I said, maybe I asked the wrong person.

And yes, the numbers. you care to explain the needed 500million dollar difference between BvS and IM2 with only a listed 50million dollar difference in budgets. Seems like a fair question.

In order to hit $1 billion at this point, they may have to resort to releasing the R-rated extended cut.
"Back by unpopular demand: 'Batman v Superman: The Extended Cut.' NOW with even MORE Martha....nekkid."

bvs is lucky deadpool was banned in china because if it wasn't i doubt it would out gross it

Deadpool had no 3d either.

Thing is... DoJ is a bad movie. But it's OK to like bad movies. Everyone does right?

It's just a huge shame how much potential this film squandered. The DC trinity on film together for the first time ever... and their only real interaction together was in an over the top cgi action scene.

This film is like the alpha to Batman and Robin's omega. They are the opposite sides of the same coin. The light and the dark.

At this point I am just waiting until Monday to see how WB spins this, every Monday it is hilarious to watch them spin the numbers to make it look like it was all part of their master plan to drop 70% first weekend and 60% second weekend...

"Melissa McCarthy is a great movie star. It's an honor to lose the #1 spot to her" :ninja:

Is that what I said?

"You're the guy that hated mos and hates this movie too, yea let's not talk about crusades here..."

Yes that's exactly what you said. Best to stop before the mods see ya trolling

Mods do seem on the hunt for the less pessimistic these days. I've seen the definition of trolling almost inverted over the years here.
Pretty much, yeah you implied it.
Yea not so much.
Tragic, however the point was that asserting a 'crusade' based on such things is folly. If he could do it to me based on just that I could do it to him based on just 'that'. It was me suggesting that claiming he was on a crusade for doing just that and in my case a singular 'moment' of skepticism would be wrong. Maybe it will be clearer in the extended cut..who knows.

My assertion here is actually based on weeks of taking points and painting it negative. Using terms like trainwreck when even the pessimistic analysts suggest disappointment at worst, outright admissions of wanting failure. And doing so on a daily basis. It is what it is. Which is why I was looking for maybe someone hip to box office that was maybe coming from a different angle.

I'll admit. I thought this movie would hit a billion easily. But I'm glad it's failing. I don't care for Snyder's "vision" and so the sooner they change direction the better. I'm not even 100% sure how I want it to look but I know it definitely isn't what's been on screen the last two movies.

There's plenty of crow to eat for EVERYBODY!

Next week:

"Warner Bros. Pictures is proud to announce Melissa McCarthy has joined the cast of Justice League as Granny Goodness"

If ya can't beat it

The big problem with the whole idea that the extended cut will save BvS from box office embarrassment is that I just don't see it pulling in the required numbers. Avatar had an extended version cinematic rerelease (I think it added about 10minutes), it was for 12 weeks and made them $33M ($10M Dom, $23M OS). Avatar is the most successful film of all time, it got there because people wanted to see it multiple times, and it got an extra $33M. BvS's figures are disappointing because it is a film that people don't want to see multiple times, I really can't see the public being that interested in going to see an extended cut to find out if it is an improvement. The extended cut is only going to be of interest to fans of the existing version and those that are hoping that will redeem the film in some way.

It doesn't matter, because it was ultimately another high-budget blockbuster that dethroned AoE, which was Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. A low-budget comedy is not going to dethrone BvS.

Speaking of eating crow, Flickster, you still out there buddy?

This thing is making $20 mil nationwide in its 3rd weekend on 4,100 screens (and all premium format ones). Zootopia in its 6th weekend is making $14 million on 3,400 screens. Theaters are probably desperate to drop BvS as soon as possible. The extended cut playing on 100 IMAX screens wouldn't even get them $1 mil over a weekend.

Probably true OS as well. Looks like maybe $35 million tops OS this weekend. The Boss stuck the spear in; now JB will drive it through BvS' back.
