BvS Batman v Superman & The Dark Knight Returns - let's clear something up... [SPOILERS]

TBH I think the point of Batman's arc in this film was to depict him as selfish. I'm aware that a lot of the things in this film didn't make sense but I think Batman's story mostly made sense. The thing is, to repeat myself, and many others, you can tell that story far better WITHOUT Batman crossing that line, and becoming the very thing that made him.

The driving conflict becomes can he cross that line to save the world from the, in his mind, inevitable threat when Superman turns to the Darkseid.
