IMO, he was the least "Batman" like in TDK, not that I'm complaining. He was awesome in TDK, but BB and TDKR have more comic-book style.

Agreed. TDK Batman was always charging in batarangs blazing and that's not a bad thing. It just felt odd to lose a lot of the stealthy approaches we saw in Begins, where he used his environment to his advantage

I think it also had to do with everything being chaos, the Joker pushed Batman out of his comfort zone therefore he was more agressive and lost some of his theatricality element as he was trying to keep up with the Jokers antics.

True, there were scenes where I felt like it went from "I'm Batman" to "IM THE GODDAM BATMAN!"

I really loved how unhinged Batman was in TDK. At the start of the film it pretty much continues from where BB left off - The mob/criminals with there backs against the walls in panic mode. But once the Joker starts to cut loose all bets are off. The way Batman interrogates Maroni, dropping him from the balcony, definitely a pure "Goddamn Batman" moment.

But what I really love about that scene is after he realizes Maroni won't spill the beans on the Joker. It's just that look in Bale's eyes and facial expression, frustration and understanding, all at the same time; that what he's dealing with is something he fully didn't expect to encounter. It's moments like these where Bruce is picking up on what these "freaks" are on to. And of course it leads to him having to become something he'd rather not, in order to stop men like the Joker.

I'm sorry....some of us actually come on here to enjoy the movie for what it was rather than nitpick and argue. It saddens me that it saddens you that we have threads like this....

I see where you're going with this haha guys, Guard is right. This will turn into a debate over a few actions that happened in the movie and everyone will talk in circles because there obviously wasn't enough.

For all the *****ing about no baratrangs, we got something even cooler - the tranquilized batarangs. Those were awesome.

I think I'm one of the few who is actually glad we didn't get the same motifs and tactics from Batman in every film.

BB had all the fighting in and out of the shadows and batatrangs plus the tumbler.

TDK branched out and showed Batman going even further with his mission, starting with the quick mention of the lightly radiated bills in the bank vault, to going all the way to Hong Kong to extradite Lau. All of it culminating to Batman having to cross moral lines to spy on people in order to catch the Joker.

TDKR actually had the best of both worlds. Batman striking from the shadows, using the classic bat gadgets, but still having to fight in unconventional ways like out in the open during the final battle.

As of fan of Batman from the comics and the animated TV show and the Burton films, it's been great seeing a complete arc of Batman from beginning, middle and end with Nolan's TDK trilogy. I got pretty much everything I wanted with Batman in this trilogy.

The only thing I wish was streamlined from the start of the trilogy to the end was Batman gliding. But hey, we've got BB and TDK for that.

One thing that's been missing since Batman Begins is the Epic Batman Scowl.
Remember in Begins when Batman Says "I can't beat 2 of your thugs?" and Ras Al Ghul says "As you wish", and 2 more League of shadows fighters rappel down the strings..

suddenly it's Batman against 4 "goons"

the way he scowls at one of them before jumping him...
that's classic Batman.

I think perhaps the best Batman-y thing in TDKR was when he saved JGL. from the obituary column.

I know it was brief, but him jumping down in the middle of them was a throwback to Begins, and the way the fight scene was shot was very cool.

In my opinion, that scene is where Batman looked the coolest [and the most Batman-y]

but a special mention [honorable mention] goes to the scene before that where he Saves Gordon & co with the tiny Batarangs that knock out their captors.

I should also mention the Bat Signal burning on the Brooklyn Bridge...

I effin LOVE that scowl. It screams badass, and I adore the way he just jumps at the guy he's scowling at immediately. As if to say, "I'll start with you."
I really wish they did that more in TDk and TDKR

I'll add:

Batman using his usual tactics (or trying to) during the sewer fight (mini explosions, turning off the lights) even though they didn't work, I loved seeing Bats use his old tricks, which were missing in TDK.

Also, when he turns off the lights in the parking lot during his 'return' is pretty awesome.

You're right, I did miss the point. I respect your opinion, but I also want to say that no matter how "Batman" the character is in any batman film, I still think there is a place for a thread talking about it. I meant no offense.

Pros
- We got to see Batman use the Bat Cave again.
- The Bat was awesome. I thought the Tumbler was unnecessary in this one. Like Fox said "nothing like some air superiority.
- The Bat Tranquilizers was a pretty good touch.
- We got to see some actual bats.

Cons
- No Batarangs
- No Grapple Gun
- No Batman sky light, but understandable
- A THREE HOUR LONG BATMAN MOVIE WITH NO EPIC GILDING SCENE WITH HANS ZIMMER'S AWESOME STRINGS SCORE IN THE BACKGROUND.
-- Batman Begins had one, The Dark Knight had one. I guess they did not want to do it 3 times, and maybe Batman was too hold for that kind of stuff... But still, c'mon! Nothing Batman does gets me more hyped than when he glides in the air with Hans' score.

I thought, TDKR was more Batman-y than TDK.

-Batman fighting side by side with Catwoman
-The Bat being used A LOT throughout the movie
-Blake (even thought not being in a costume) basically being Robin by driving Bruce around and helping him research Bane etc etc
-Bruce in the cave in Batman suit without the cowl on at the bat computer with Alfred next to him
-Bane saying "I will break you" and then actually breaking him
-Batman working WITH the police and setting up the master plan to stop the bomb / stop Bane
-The entire scale of the movie was more Batman-y and comic booky: TDK was just Gotham and Joker blowing stuff up. TDKR was a much much bigger scale emphasized by the General "Get the President on the line"

Theres a ton more these are just off the top of my head but it def was more Batman-y compared to TDK IMO

- Alfred bringing Bruce breakfast, only to discover he's not in bed (all 3 films I believe)
- Batman sitting in the Cave using the Bat-computer, actually the first time this happens in Nolan's films.

I thought the arrow he shot at Selina was a good reminder that although he's become a recluse and obviously not at the level he was physically, he's still the goddamn Batman.

- Alfred opening the hidden entrance to elevator that leads to the Batcave.
- Bruce sitting at the Bat-computer, researching Selina's past. And the mention of having a tracking device in his mother's pearls. Pure Batman move.
