The Dark Knight Batsuit Discussion Thread

Do you like the idea of a new Batsuit in TDK?

  • Yes, I like the idea of a change to a greyish, lighter & more streamlined suit.

  • No, I would rather Batman stay in the black, body armour type suit from BB.

WHY THE HELL ARE YOU STUCK ON THIS IDEA THAT LUDA DENIES THAT IN THE COMICS HE WEARS LENSES!!?!?!?

sorry.

the cowl could use some tweaking.

maybe the use of lenses in some scenes. :D

has everyone gone soft?

i go to page 16 and i see "saint, i think you should stop bashing luda".

wtf.

suck it up.

good job saint.

Because he keeps refuting that idea.
No, he really doesn't. He keeps arguing against there being lenses in the films. This is a films forum.

I wanna give a special shout out to Keyser Sushi, StorminNorman, General Grevious and my man Ronny Shade for making Saint's argument look weak :)

Again dude, I admitted about the lenses but it doesn sway from my orginal argument of why I dont think the lenses would work on camera and I said that. If you gotta issue with something I said, Quote it and I'll be happy to explain :). But until you making yourself look real bad.

Really? Wow. I guess I must have imagined these quotes (among others), then. And apparently I must also have reality altering powers rivaling those of Franklin Richards, because my imaginings became reality! Behold!

I say the white eye look cant be lenses even if a few cases it has shown otherwise
I mean Batman has never said in the comics his white eyes are lenses
It was never popularised in the comics to assume they were lenses save for a few examples you guys have mentioned and even then one can argue that's an example of "Diagetic art"

In any case, even after he was proven wrong and gave his quasi-concession, he continued to respond to my posts as if I were arguing for lenses on film, which was rather annoying and prompted my replies that followed. This became less about the lense issue and more about his inability understand that I was only disagreeing with his notion that Batman doesn't wear lenses in the comics, and had nothing to do with lenses on film. And don't bother saying "but this is the films forum" because I don't really care, as this is where the conversation has taken us.

Actually, they said not a word against my argument. They only spoke on the way in which I made it. Of course, I won't be surprised if you don't understand the distinction.

But until you making yourself look real bad.
You keep saying that, but I continue to not care.

Sure, and then when dude said they were lenses in recent issues. I said ok I can accept that. But he also said in the past it was never mentioned what the white eye look was. So you can see why I said what I said. For years they never talked about mentioned anything about what those white eyes where. So I raised the point that it was simply an artistic touch or diagetic (like the spider tingling or sound effect illustrations). But you seemed obssesed and stick on this small part of what they are in the comics and that makes you look boderline obsessive. Even average fans have the right to state what they think dont make them idiots :)

I had another longwinded post here, but I edited it out because I'm just repeating myself. I have nothing more to say, because everything I have in response to this is already included in my other posts, because you just keep saying the same incorrect stuff over and over. The fact is, I haven't made a new argument in at least two pages. Frankly, I'm tired of being dragged around in your demented little circles. I can't be blamed for your uncanny ability to avoid logic like it's some disease.

As such, I'm through with this topic. Never fear, though, because my responses to any following posts by SL can surely be found in my previous messages in this thread, because I have no doubt he will continue to repeat himself after I'm gone.

I always loved this Fan Poster....from like 4 years back. Take note of the cowl.

I remember someone made that and posted here in like 2002-2003 though. It's even in my pictures section of Windows with the modified date of September 15 2002 lol.

Frankly, I've never seen the point in Batman's having a jaw opening. This is the kind of hood I've always been a fan of.

I mean, what makes Batman the terror that he is, is that he looks like and uses the tactics of a bad guy, but is 100% good guy.

Here, this is about as much as they could cut open the mouth on Bale, due to his face being thin. And the pic on the left, is what the mask would look like if they changed the ears, and made the mask a little less round.

*EDIT*
Look at the left picture. I erased the shine on the cowl that made it look round. Just to give it a more straight look.

EXCELLENT! These are the changes I've wanted since the first clear shots of BB were released. The sharper, straighter ears give him a more menacing look and the wider cut for the mouth opening is also much better. A more "classic" Batman look and, for me at least, much more asthetically pleasing. Good work!!

I really like that design... really, really like it. I remember someone posting it awhile back. The only problem I have with it, is that it reveals way too much of Bale's (Bruce Wayne's) identity. I mean the cut of the mask goes WAY above Bale's cheekbones, and you can virtually make out all revealing and prominent aspects of his face. Back before BEGINS came out, and before we saw the first picture of what the suit looked like, I would have loved to have seen a mask like that, and a material of the costume made like the Superman Returns or Spider-man costume, with a possible high-tech imprint on it to show that it was a military protective armor...but would still be highly mobile. I also wanted the colors of the suit to be black and grey. It would be awesome if someone could manip a black and grey style suit like I mentioned, and put that cowl design above onto the body of it.

As for the sequel, I would like to keep near the exact same design in all aspects and make it black and grey. If not, I would just like to see something innovative that we have yet to see before. Like I remember seeing this other artist rendering of a Bale as Batman painting, and it had this very creepy animalistic Batman mask. I can't find it right now...but I would have loved to see something like it on screen. It had a different style of ears (more Bob Kane-ish, and more bat-like), and it had a really intriguing design. I think the way that suit looked, with the way Bale potrayed Batman as this creature...would've made for the perfect combo. If anyone has that painting as well, or knows what I'm talking about...they should post it.

Black and grey wouldn't work on a batsuit, all black is much better.

You don't know that...

It hasn't been done, so how would you know whether it work or not?

I love the all black look, don't get me wrong... but it's been done to death. I'm not asking for a royal blue and grey costume ala much of the comics. Just a simple deep grey and black, I think it would make for more interesting visuals then just plain all black.

The reason I don't want black and grey because Batman suppose to be freighting criminals in shadows that's my opinion.
