The Dark Knight Batsuit Discussion Thread

Do you like the idea of a new Batsuit in TDK?

  • Yes, I like the idea of a change to a greyish, lighter & more streamlined suit.

  • No, I would rather Batman stay in the black, body armour type suit from BB.

First, the links aren't working for me. Can everyone else see them?

And I think Norman means that he doesn't see it in the film because he is never completely standing still like he is in a picture, he's in motion. I don't notice it either in the film because there is too much other stuff going on. It's very easy to point out bulges and folds and stuff to a picture, but much harder to catch it during the movie (unless that is something you are specifically looking for).

Exactly - in the film any "bulges" are hardly noticable. Also give me bulges over a yellow oval any day :)

Batman needs trunks that serve as a "boxing groin protector" and a "climbing harness." Both are worn over garments.

But why make them a darker black (or lighter black) than the protective leggings he already has. Also Batman is not simply wearing gym shorts under his bat-thong, groin protectors and climbing harnesses are meant to be worn with light clothing - these can already be built in to the suit.

Right, it does fold and buckle, but it is much harder to tell that it does when watching it in motion. When in motion you can't really tell unless you are really looking for it. And almost every design would have that no matter what. The only way you couldn't have wrinkles would be if the suit was so hard it was completely non-flexible.

Boy, that was a waste of time.

First of all, we've all seen these pics before. Secondly, if you want to link to them, they're actually hosted on the Hype! Batman page as well.

Third, you're making a big deal over that little bulge that appears around his armpit sometimes when he moves his arm a certain way.

A complete non-issue.

You know what funny about pointing out the suit fold & all that on the BB stills? I don't remeber seeing it do that in the film!! Don't you think you're making a big deal out of this when you barely even see it folds in the movie? People should just get over it. Especially using stills as an excuse on the folding thing when you barely even see it in the movie. If I don't even notice it folds & all that crap, then I don't need to make a big deal out of the stills.

heh. It's like when they say Keaton and others couldn't turn the neck or that Keats is not tall enough. Don't see in the movies.

Alot of the Batmen can't move their heads & neck at all, alot like Darth Vader. It is funny when they have to turn their whole bodies around to see behind them, which I am guessing is a disadvantage when you are fighting.

You'd think.

Vader has the force though. I wouldn't worry too much about him.

The harness must be worn over any other garments so that if necessary it can be released. Why not make them black over a dark gray body suit? It looks better that way. The "bat" groin protector/harness can be worn over any kind of clothing.

Making a Bat-Thong a different color from the rest of the suit makes it look better? Really?

In a two-color black and gray suit, yes, it does. I've seen a number of black-gray Bat-suits without them and they look stupid, like kiddie PJ's. I expect to see a flap in the back so Bats can do a no. 2.
