The Dark Knight Batsuit Discussion Thread

Do you like the idea of a new Batsuit in TDK?

  • Yes, I like the idea of a change to a greyish, lighter & more streamlined suit.

  • No, I would rather Batman stay in the black, body armour type suit from BB.

Simple question: Where have you been?

Which was later followed by news that he is still in the mix. Also you were looking for Jude Law.

Is there a thread that had that news about him being back in? Never knew. Also yea Law was the one I was looking for. :P

Latest Bat-Scuttlebutt
Author: Jett
Tuesday, May 9, 2006 - 11:39 AM CENTRAL TIME: What’s up y’all? Jett here. Our ‘ol friend “Jindrak” is back with some information for all of you Bat-fans. But first…
Let me preface by saying this: please read the disclaimer above. Did you read it? Good! Let me emphasize that part that says “unless otherwise noted, all BATMAN movie news should be considered rumor and treated as such.” So please remember, we do report rumors. However, the buzz we report comes from sources that we’ve known for a long while and have been dead on accurate in the past. The rumors are simply part of the fun and the build up towards the next Bat-flick, right? When I tell y’all to chisel something in stone, go buy the damn hammer! And please don’t think I’m being condescending here, OK? While I KNOW most of you get it, some of my dear readers don’t -- and they let me know it in their emails.
Now, on with today’s report…
I’m going to simply list several of his blurbs -- some will be quotes, others will consist of me paraphrasing “Jindrak.”
“With the inclusion of the Joker & the general public’s renewed interest, Warner know & appreciate more than ever the importance of listening to the fans & leaving Chris & David to get on with it!” Paul Bettany is “in the mix” for the part of The Joker. As he himself recently, it’s all about money and negotiating power. It’s not lost on anyone that he’s one of the fan faves for the role.

Neither you, nor your brother get to have an opinion on Batman, any upcoming films, or any other upcoming projects.

Look at my sig if you want to know why.
well i guess that mean this will be my last post on these forums then

hippie dude, or should i call you God because apparently you think you have some kind of divine power over these forums, You dont talk to me or my brother like we're a 12 year-old who just wrecked your Porsche. Being a Batman fans does not require us to memorize and site the Batman Bible, so gettin facts wrong or slighlty skewed (which i dont even remember) doesnt give you the right to call into question my/our love or knowledge of the character.

Now if you'll excuse me, i have to write more posts so i can see how much power you think you have.

thats a real nice design, but i dont know i feel about the underoos hes got goin on. i prefer the black emblem from the movie, but i like how the bodys seams are simplifed and more organic (id get rid of that line that goes across his pecs though).

The cowl on that design is cool though. The whole design is cool actually. But to me if that were made into the same material as the beings suit you would not notice all of that detail and both would look really similar.

Although I think maybe Hunter-Hippie is indeed making a big deal out of one mistake, I do get his point in that he feels someone so vastly uninformed about Batman should not be opining about him. On these boards , it happens all to often and I can understand his frustration.
I propose, however, that Hunter should maybe get over it. It's not all that important.

Thank you. I appreciate someone here seeing my point.

First off let me start by saying no matter what, wearing any kind of costume IS "Ridiculous".
Period.
Second that is the point is to invite people into the absurd and ridiculous.
In today's society our innocents is gone.
Everything that was considered good in our for fathers day is thought of as un cool or
gay...(Not to offend any gays on this board) But why?
His costume should be and can be made well and look just like the comic.
there is no excuse why it can't.
Truth is the WB has there "BATMAN" and DC has there "Batman"
Look at it this way when you go to see a film about the Roman Empire
like "Gladiator" you are not sitting there going the costumes suck. The colors
suck. It looks to gay... Why? Because you just saw Russell Crow stab some guy in the neck and it makes you wonder why?
You have just been invited to the Gladiators world.
Same goes for Batman. It doesn't mater the explanation of the suit
to the 10th power. All that is important is when you see Bruce Wayne in that costume
beat the crap out of a thug you know that Bats ain't no joke.
Black on Black suit is boring.
Plus we saw it before over and over.

There's a difference between "slightly skewed" and "completely wrong". It's exactly the type of thing that gives people the right to call into question both your love of the character and your knowledge of the source material. It makes me sad that the two of you don't understand that.

alright well you can sit there be sad all you want, cuz unless it turns out ur Batman himself i couldnt care less what you think. but i will say this, the second you give someone a wrong name, wrong story, wrong info, wrong issue, wrong year about Batman, everything you just said will be complete BS.

im done.

Yes there is a difference between "slightly skewed" and "completely wrong" but that does not mean you should be an ass about it. I made a mistake about Ivy so what.

When people have made mistakes I did not rub it in their faces and act like an ass about it. When I have made mistakes other times people did not do what you have been doing. When others have made mistakes and other people correct them I have not seen them treat the person so bad and say crap about them. The point is people make mistakes and you are being a butt about this.

He is not seeing your point...he understands you getting upset because that kind of stuff happens often...but he even said you should get over it and it is not important.

THAT! IS! AMAZING! WOW! I prefer the black bat emblem without the yellow oval. But other than that, I could definately see the Begins suit evolving into that. It is perfect. It looks like Bale's suit, just sleeker, with long ears and a not-so-technical mid-section.

I concur. I would get rid of the yellow oval & the "underwear" look. And make the belt buckle smaller & you get a perfect upgrade of the BB suit. :)

Wams said:
Ditch the oval, and add compartments to the belt and this would be the best bat suit ever. Where are these coming from?

Wams said:
Use the Batman Begins chest symbol, ditch the undies, make the suit all black, add more pouches to the belt, and that suit is perfect.

You know what's funny? All the cowls in these designs are IMPOSSIBLE.

Where would Bale's ears be? He'd have to cut them off to fit inside that cowl. :(

It is absolutely true. Look at that last pic you posted, with the red sky... Batman's head is proportioned reasonably enough, but there's no allowance for a.) the thickness of the material, and b.) a human being's ears underneath it

The cowl has to be wider.

Seriously, Keyser...I agree.

Not to mention the "oval bat" is played out. And the bat-thong looks ridiculous. The costume we have now is WAY better than the Bat-thong costume. I love the current cowl's defintion and unique animalistic look and thick neck.
