Beast Wars Is Reportedly One of the Two Transformers Spinoffs in the Works

This better be good.

Beast Wars was like the first 3d animated series I've watched and I really liked how the talking animals were transformed into robots. But visual effects and graphics don't impress me that much these days if the story is poor.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but, Bumblebee aside, I’m actually getting more and more excited for a full-on, mainline Transformers film again.

The last time that happened was back in 2007 with the first Bay film, and even then I had reservations. I do for this film, too, somewhat, but at least this director, like Travis Knight, has a deep love for the franchise and seems to be bringing a much more positive energy to this film.

So this is basically Stephen Caple's next film after Creed II.

Man I hope this turns out good, was never into Beast Wars but can see so much G1 stuff already.

I’d recommend Beast Wars. The animation is dated, but the storylines, characters, writing, and humour are great.

It also takes quite a bit of lore and references to G1 as the show goes on, especially in the second and third seasons. Even a few classic characters show up.

It takes place after G1, but the Maximals and Predacons travel back in time to prehistoric earth before those events.

I too am happy to see a lot of G1 influences! That truck looks awesome! :wow:

I'd definitely give BWs a 2nd chance. Esp by S2 the show ramps up and given all the constrictions the showrunners had, it turned out amazing.

This.

Probably my favourite iteration of the franchise, but I might be biased as that served as my introduction to Transformers before my dad introduced me to G1.

I like the new look.

I like a lot of the small changes, like the front guard and the slight stylization of the grey stripe on the side. It doesn’t strictly adhere to the original G1 design but still looks recognizable.

Megatron showing up in this?

I think BW Megatron has a much greater chance of showing up than the actual Megatron.

Caple Jr. said the Predacons were to play a prominent role, and were described as more reptilian. Of course, there’s always the chance characters like Blackarachnia, Scorponok, Tarantulas wouldn’t show up.

But then again, Primal, Rhinox, Airazor and possibly Cheetor showing up, I can’t see them shunning popular Predacons.

Benedict Cumberbatch for BW Megatron if they don’t get David Kaye to reprise his role.

But, I believe Scourge is supposed to be one of the villains of the film.
