LEA CARRIER PRESS

On Tuesday, the production team headed for downtown, near the Old Port. Three quadrilaterals between McGill and Saint-Pierre streets, as well as Notre-Dame and Saint-Jacques, were crossed out. Huge spotlights were pointing in the direction of the Crew Collective Café, which will serve as the backdrop for the next evenings of filming.

Few details have so far been revealed about the new chapter in the blockbuster series . We know that it is called Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and that Steven Caple Jr. ensures the realization. Optimus Prime, hero of the franchise, will also be back alongside actors Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback. The film will take place in 1994 and will travel between New York and Machu Picchu.

Transformers isn't the only mega-production to make Montreal its home this summer. Last month, Sainte-Catherine Street hosted the filming of Disappointment Blvd , an American horror film starring Joaquin Phoenix.

According to our information, the filming of Transformers will continue on Montreal soil until the end of September.

is this a continuation of the movies, or a continuation of the newer bumblebee movie?

It's like DC. Hey is such and such story still cannon? Weeeell maybe, kinda, sorta. I'll get back with you tomorrow.

the next day. Hey did you ask so and so about that story? Yeah, they said weeeell maybe, kinda, sorta. Ah just go ahead and include it if you want. If they don't like it they can change it later.

In all seriousness I think it's viewed as a reboot but the studio or who ever are afraid that outright admitting it's a reboot will drive fans away.

Think of it like the Burton/Schumacher Batman’s or X-Men prequels. They half reboot it, but they also use what they want from the previous ones. So basically a reboot sequel.

And this is basically being touted as a hybrid of Bumblebee and Bay’s Transformers. Because they want the heart of the former, but all the blockbuster money of the latter.

The problem with this movie is that this is the SECOND film in a rebooted series and they are throwing in Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons all in the same film, on top of having humans, Autobots, and Decepticons.

This.

I am so nervous about this film as it seems to be juggling way too much, the 90’s setting is weird when incorporating BW, humans, etc.

Still, some things I’m looking forward to like Optimus and Bay not directing is a plus!

Could go either way.

Yeah. I was eXcited at first when I thought this is an adaptation of Beast Wars.

But then this thread gets filled with car pictures... okay.

Agreed.

Btw, I've met Ron Perlman at a convention years ago. He's honestly one of the nicest actors you could ever meet and I'm happy to see him get more work. Dude's also a veteran voice actor and I can't WAIT to see him and Peter Cullen play off each other!

Can’t wait to see how that dynamic plays out!

Also pretty awesome you met him. I didn’t get to, but I did meet Cullen and Welker, which was so awesome!

They were never going to do a direct Beast Wars adaptation set on prehistoric Earth.

I didn't think about prehistoric Earth but rather than just seeing the Animal Transformers in the movie, without the Car Transformers.
