Cranston as Gordon.

Brad Pitt as Luthor.

You know what I am actually routing for Affleck now, some people have been complete *******s in regards to airing their opinion about not wanting him for the role. Saying he should die in front of his kids and get cancer and all that crap is way to much. Also a stupid petition has been started, go Affleck prove everyone right and blow this role out of the water.

Remember this internet:

"Heath? let's reminisce on the days of A Knight's Tale and Ten Things I Hate About You. Heath? The Joker? Bad casting. Bad joke."

"probably the worst casting of all time."

"On no, it's wrong on every level."

"This is totally bull. I do not at all like this choice."

"Hell NOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

"And now begins the second downfall of the Batman series... I hope this is all a joke"

"I am NOT seeing this movie if he is in it."

"The Joker is a character that needs an actor with gravity. Not some little twerp who got lucky."

WB never re-releases films in dollar theatres and IMAX as I understand it. Other companies are different. FF6 got dollar theatres and IMAX re-releases. I think IM3 is too. I know its getting an IMAX re-release.

I wonder if WB will break their pattern. MOS is in dollar theatres - might WB want to capitalize on the buzz over the announcement and do a re-release IMAX for MOS.

I saw Man of Steel for a 2nd time at my dollar theater last week.

This.
I'm hoping he 'co-directs' the film like Norton did with TIH. Affleck helps Snyder with the quiet moments, Snyder does the great action and visuals.

Internet petitions are like the sprig of parsley served with a steak: inevitable, unwanted, and futile.

Can't believe im stoked for this now.

Just heard that Affleck already started intense training every single day. It's August, they're only shooting in February. God damn! And Affleck is already a big guy! The biggest dude to play Batman so far...

I think we might get the Man Of Steel versus an Arkham City Batman. 2 superheroes who look straight off the page, straight out of animation. I have a feeling Affleck is gonna look like a monster come time for filming.

Ben Affleck to Play Batman in Man of Steel Sequel

But the list of the ones who would fit more, is longer.

We haven't seen their take on Batman. I was hoping for Karl Urban but I'll give Affleck a chance. I think he has the potential to do a great Batman.

What a commendably mature and open minded attitude.

Wrong forum. :cmad:

Then how can people say that Warner could have done MUCH better (regarding the casting)?

Good Fan Manip

:wow:

that's awesome! looks like Batman from the Arkham games

so far, Snyder has been spot on with casting in all his comic book films (300, Watchmen, & Man of Steel), so i got faith in this

I think Ben could surprise people. This is the role of a lifetime for an actor.

A lot of the controversy is this image that has built up around him which is not fair.

Again, any actor would sell their first child to play Batman. And Ben is not any actor. He is very talented.

I can see the potential for a great Ben/Amy, Bruce/lLois romance.

It funny, I am normally the negative one, or so people think, here and though this is a risk, I am happy with Ben on board and hope he takes part in helping with the script.

THIS! I don't think anyone does scale within the genre quite like ZS, but MANY people are better with being subtle and having a strong story structure than Zack/Goyer. Having Affleck cowrite and co-direct can ONLY help this movie.

Wow! Really shocked at the poll results here. I voted for "yes" too... but by looking at Twitter, Facebook, and the Batman News comments it seems like 90% of fans aren't happy with Affleck's casting.

All this hate, I hope Affleck is the kind who feeds on hate because he will be a very full man.

Look, I'll be the first to admit that I got blown up by what happend with Ledger but here's where comparrison breaks down for me: it assumes that Affleck has become a much better actor in the past decade and I've seen no evidence to support that (though he has become a great director and writer).

We were unable to see Heath Ledger in that part because while he'd never been bad in anything I'd ever seen him in, nothing he'd ever done had indicated he had it in him to give that kind of a performance.
Not only has Ben Affleck had a long career of one bad performance after another, he's also had his shot at this kind of a role before and been found wanting. Even in his more recent films like Argo, which was a great movie, he himself has been only passable.

People ALWAYS complain with casting choices. If it isn't Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender or Nathan Fillion you can bet they'll complain.
